Shuhei Yoshida recieves Honor Award in Spain

Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida is one of the most prominent figures in today’s video game development, and his contribution to the industry was rewarded by the Spanish Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences at Gamelab 2014 in Barcelona with the Honor Award of the Academy.

The award has been institutionalized to offer tribute to those artists and national and international industry professionals who helped improve the gaming industry in the production or artistic aspect. Yoshida-san’s dedication to supporting experimental game was cited between the reasons for his selection, and he joins previous winners Hideo Kojima, Kazunori Yamauchi and Will Wright.

On the other hand, the Legend Award (won last year by Mark Cerny) was presented to Shenmue creator Yu Suzuki, cited as essential to the formation of the current gaming industry.

Both Yoshida-san and Suzuki-san held panels during the convention, and hopefully we’ll be able to hear more about their content soon.

well deserved. This industry wouldn't be the same nor the PS4 be as successful if it weren't for all the contributions from Shu and his commitment to the gamers.

Spain is a Sony fanboy country, so I guess only people involved with Sony get awards there? Am I right?
