With MS buying up studios left and right and the recent Take Two rumor and then I saw this youtube video "7 Studios Sony Could Potentially Acquire" that mentions CD Project Red, Insomniac, PLAYDEAD, Supermassive, frictional games, FROM and Bluepoint. I thought this would make good SW discussion.

No. I don't think they should buy any. I think they should form new ones instead.

Buying a studio implies exclusivity and less freedom for the studio. Let current studios be (same goes for Microsoft)

Any Japan studios. Sony already have good relations with them so why not. But the thing is, Sony Entertainment Japan seems to like to closes those studios or merge them into bigger Sony Japan Studios.

That said, Square Enix, Platinum games and From Software is easy pick. All have very strong Playstation fanbase behind them. Platinum is risky as they have produced from great to average games to one of the absolute turds of this gen.

Also buys Kojima Production and Konami. New Stealth game and, Suikoden 6 yahoo!

Also buying cdpr would mean the end of gog and I don't want that.

Like MS, focus on smaller devs to build up n grow. Going out and obtaining bigger studios/creating new studios would be too costly and limits quantity when trying to sell PSNow.

Insomniac is to Sony as Playground Games was to MS. So, Insomniac would be a nice start. Then the developers resposnible for Dead Nation/Alien Nation, Helldivers, n maybe form a studio of Ex Evolution devs to work on Motorstorm.

Sony are knocking it out of the park at the moment so there's no rush to change anything. But with Sony you know they never stand still and always look to freshening up I wouldn't be surprised if another studio is brought up soon.

No. The studios they have is enough. If they can they should make a studio.

Only if it was to make the games become cheaper faster as it is usually the case with sony's first party, other than that, it makes no difference to me.

Sony should buy Konami and resurrect Silent Hill.

Insomniac doesn't want to be bought out and lol at Sony buying CDPR. That's not happening.

They already have the best first party team of the 3 (arguments can be made with Nintendo though). Buying more would be unnecessary but still good.

I don't want Sony buying up any more studios. I would prefer games remain multi-plat. At least when MS buys a studio, they will be releasing their games on PC.

They should only buy close third parties where there has been jolly cooperation.

Lol I know... nearly as ridiculous as Take Two.

Studios like Insomniac or Supermassive would be obvious choices.

No, I can't htink of a reason why that's necessary at all.
