Much like how they were able to get Bayonetta 2? I think that would be super sweet and a good fit for the system. The Gamepad would be really useful for a game like that too since you can use the touch screen to interact with characters/environment.

putting Shenmue 3 on a single platform is such a terrible idea.
It´s the only way I can see it happening,no one(sony/ms/nintendo) is gonna fund the game if it isn´t exclusive to their platform and that´s assuming any of them would be actually interested in doing so in the first place. Crowdfunding ain´t gonna happen either, not at the scale a project like Shenmue 3 would need anyway.
No. It's not Nintendo so no one would buy it. And therefore a lot of people would be prevented from playing it.
Yes Nintendo should try to secure Shenmue 3, not because of the gamepad, but because Wii U needs as many as exclusives as possible since its lacking 3rd parties multiplat games...but Nintendo won't do it. :P
I don't understand why some people still think that Shenmue 3 has any chance of ever being made.
The Shenmue series has never turned a profit and that was back in the days when games were cheaper to make and Japanese games were more popular; the game would be an even bigger financial disaster in the modern era.
There is no company that is going to fund a sequel for a series that has always lost money. That would not be a smart business move.
no, but they should try to secure rights to publish the previous Shenmue titles on the Wii U, that might be easier to accomplish
From what I gathered Suzuki-san seemed to be on the fence or MAYBE he'd do it. If the team and budget is right it could be really good. Shenmue does deserve to be finished one way or the other. Even if it's released as a book.
I doubt it would sell much no matter what platform it was released for.
it would sell if it's a good game.
That's not a guarantee. Great games sell terribly all the time.

Because it's not like the likes of Beyond Good and Evil, Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy, Okami, and TimeSplitters: Future Perfect were bombs... OH WAIT!

Don't forget to add in Shenmue and Shenmue II.
I loved the original Shenmue. I never played part 2.
The games are big time cult status but as far as actual sales goes and appeal this would be a waste of time on the Wii U's part. Unless it wants to be known as the "cult game system" it needs real powerhouse third party support. Not niche games.
Putting any major exclusive on the wii u is a bad idea due to the low sales. Even major 3rd party games don't sell on the wii pew. If you want to play Shenmue grab a emulator.
