I'm interested to see how modifications will change how the game plays.

Interesting setting and trailer, but knowing CoD, this is the wrong series (and dev) to explore these themes. Other than Advanced Warfare, there hasn't been a thematically well executed CoD since Modern Warfare. Every other entry has boiled down to a caricature of war glorification. That's all fine and dandy too -- it's what the series does and does well, but Activision needs to stop kidding themselves with these trailers that purport to explore something deeper. Maybe Black Ops 3 will be different, but there was so much squandered potential both with Ghosts and Black Ops 2 it's hard to be anything but doubtful.
That said, I'm still a fan of the series and Advanced Warfare did an excellent job with renewing my interest.
Mad excited. Treyarch does these games best, and they always push for something different. Let's see how this goes.

Black ops 2 had a branching storyline. In a Call of Duty game. A branching storyline.
And it worked.
Lol Deus Ex takes a stab on Twitter: https://twitter.com/DeusEx/status/591298080118472704
COD will stay COD.
PS. OMG advertising budget is huge, and in the end it will be only a 6-hour long mediocre shooter.
Sounds more like the obvious place to take the narrative with the exo shit they had in Advance Warfare, so they can keep those mechanics going from AW to Black Ops 3.
This. And that means no purchase from me...
lol. Campaign will be shit has usual and multiplayer will be crap like always.
Laser and double jumps didn't change anything about COD
Was disappointed AW dropped from 4 player split screen co op to 2. The effort they seem to be making to shoehorn in another story into AW's mechanics doesn't bode well for my hope of significant engine changes.
Oh well, they don't get it back up to four I'll pass again.
You'll still be moving in a straight line and killing anyone who pops up on screen.
Which is fine. This ain't an RPG.
I don't care what they do with single player or multiplayer. I will pre order this game for zombies. I haven't pre order a game since Skyrim
@deadline-zero0: do you were skinny jeans and scarfs? your hipsterness is showing. that said if call of duty isn't your thing fine, i get that. the series isn't for everyone. spouting ignorant nonsense is another thing however. these games are some of the finest on the market in alot of ways, ignoring that makes you look like a moron. quite sick of the mindless bandwagon cod bashing.

So if the game is not RPG, it is OK to have straight line levels, weapons limit and brain dead AI? Anyways,,, I didn't say it was right or wrong, I said you'll still be moving in straight line like every other COD game, with no new stuff. Same soul, new paint.
Black Ops and Black Ops II were awesome. Treyarch knows how to make good CODs that feel fresh. Pretty excited what they will pull off in BO3
