I dunno those Koreans sure like their starcraft. Didnt Burning Crusade sell more copies then Halo 2 on day one?
its very tough, i think starcraft brand has been out of the loop too long, i dont think many non gamers or newer gamers know of it, i mean starcraft was about 9-10 years ago!!!!

Thats the thing about Starcraft, its easy to get into, but very difficult to master....Seeing as how Starcraft 1 outsold both Halo's, I have no doubt this one will do the same.

StarCraft 2 should win - all of the Republic of Korea will buy it for a start, and it won't do too badly anywhere else :P As for in the long run - the original SC is still played a LOT today; so I'm guessing SC2 has the edge there too.
Halo 3 in the short run. Halo 3 in the longrun in the US. world wide will go to starcraft 2, why because every korean in Korea will unite in Starcraft 2. and unite as one nation, then attack each other all over again because one side thinks its better in SC 2 than the other.

nope i do not know how much it sold. all im saying is that consoles generally sell better
edit: after checking wikipedia, it says "9 million copies of StarCraft and its expansion pack" while halo 2 sold 7.89 million copies citing from vgchartz.com. so its pretty colse. so considering it, i think starcraft 2 has a chance to outsell halo 3 judging by the fanbase
Like people have already said, Starcraft has its own freakin country backing it up. Even if somehow, in some completely inexplicable way, no one bought Starcraft in America, Korea would still have enough players to make up for it. Of course, I'm not sure how many new gamers know about Starcraft these days. It is a 10 year old game after all.

wow now he cant have a opinion. good one. some of the ppl who are younger than some of us might not know how popular SC was back in the days. seriously lay off and take a chill pill.
I think halo 3 will outsell SC2 barely in NA while SC2 will outsell halo counting worldwide. I just cant believe SC2 is finally coming out after 10 years. crazy how time has flown by.
Call me crazy, but I think it will be close. We have tons of casuals in America (4 million preorders already?!), but Starcraft, as said has Korea behind it (not to mention plenty of PC gamers everywhere else)
In the short run, VERY short run, I say Halo. But Starcraft will be ahead, although not by much, after that.
Starcraft by a long shot in both short and long. You have no idea how many people are waiting for SC2. SC 1 sold more then both the Halos, it's going to be the same this time.
Starcraft 2 will outsell halo 3 by millions. There are 10 million sales for original starcraft and 6 million for broodwar. Do u have an idea how many people are waiting for starcraft 2?
