Ryse: Son of Rome is underrated

I'm playing Ryse Son of Rome currently, its nifty action game guys. Graphics is spectacular, combat is fun, facial animations great, story is good. Tons of skill upgrades, collectibles to aquire throught gameplay. I'm not saying its a masterpeice or a 9 material, but its a fun hack n slash game (8 material definately ... imo).Personally I'm finding it more fun than Crysis 2 and 3.

Whats your last opinion on Ryse:Son of Rome Warriors ? :)

I played quite a bit of the Xbone version and I liked it. Still, the game shall ever be known as Ryse: Son of Knack,

I enjoyed the game but I disliked killing the same fat bearded guy over and over and over....could have been great...instead just alright. Still one of the best looking console games though.

i enjoyed it , it wasnt groundbreaking by any stretch. great graphics and fairly fluid gameplay. It needed another year in the oven, the variety of enemies to fight wasn't very good, boss battles were boring and easy and not memorable. i think the score it received was pretty harsh its not like the game was broken, same thing with Knack it wasn't broken and didn't deserve such a low score and for the other exclusive launch game KZSF received too high of a score everything except its graphics sucked

I liked it actually. I would have scored it a 7 were I reviewing it. Especially when playing on the hardest difficulty, the game can shine and the perfect timing on executions is paramount. Good game imo

Ryse was actually good game, but Dumby Fans keep thinking it bad because the score not waht they are expecting and think it failed cause of that, what does PeeS4 have? Knack? more like CrapK haha we also get sunset and masterchief collection in here they wait for games.

It was a shit game, the cinematic cut scenes and voice acting where really, really good though.

You mean hack n slash? Tons. Beat em up only as in fighting games as Tekken or Mortal Kombat? Few.

Almost any game can be "fun". The problem starts when you compare them with similar products on the market.

The word "gratitous" suggests that it was unnecessary. Bit wit was necessary to recreate the violence of war of that time period.

I thought it was a very pretty game, it just got repetitious after a while. I wonder what could have been if the games development didn't change multiple times. I give the game a 6.5-7.5

I think it deserved a 7ish score.. Crytek took too much heat for this game.. It is exactly what you said OP a fun and gorgeous looking hack n slash.

Ryse was an epic play through for a launch title. The cutscenes are forever embedded in memory.

Ryse is a visually excellent piece of software. I wouldn't call it a game exactly. I'm not sure what I'd call it, but it wouldn't be complimentary. Maybe a cut-scene-'em up for people who don't like going to the effort of playing a game but want to watch stuff and press a button or two every now and again.

This game has crappier combat system Ass Creed has and since all you're doing is fighting stuff... Knack is more underrated than Ryse, that should say a lot.

It looks fantastic, and I think it's the current graphics king. But no, the gameplay is amazingly repetitive and utterly devoid of variety, even if its mechanics work well enough. You can't just make an action game that doesn't offer any new combos, movesets, or weapons throughout the game.

I got it for 29.99 in the launch period... I have no regrets.

Literally just beat it, credits rolling now.(They gave me a free code for it for buying the Sunset bundle) It was an excellent cinematic game, just realize that it's a cinematic game going in and it's mostly for the story and you'll be good.
