So finally played Ryse as it was in the STEAM sale and graphically it's not all that.
Most of the textures and fine details are like Crysis 3 on Medium.
Why such a big fuss over this games graphics?

So TC is just starting shit:
Got Ryse on the STEAM sale and playing it maxed out at 2560x1440 with a rock solid locked 60fps on GTX970 SLI and is does look very impressive!

yet looks better than anything on ps4th place or xboner.
It's no Shadowfall. Shadowfall has way bigger levels, better environmental textures (Ryse is LOL in this department), more texture variety, better animations etc. If you actually get a chance to put time into both games, it's pretty obvious Ryse was rushed in many aspects in both the gameplay and visual department.
I think everyone is quick to think that the pre-rendered parts of Ryse are ingame (like the cutscenes), similar to how cows were using Uncharted 2 cutscene screenshots to incorrectly brag about their game. Once you're ingame, it looks like every other 3rd-person hack and slash (except everything is blurrier and people are impressed by blur).

He's starting shit and full of shit. He is either lying about it being maxed or doesn't know what 60fps looks like. I have a Titan Black SLI and have to turn a couple of settings down to get 60fps at 1440p. Judging by his comments below, maybe he had to turn the textures down to medium to get 60fps.

Graphics threads should have comparison screenshots so those of us who didn't buy the game can follow along.
.....preferably user screenshots so we can see what the TC is seeing.

It was optimized on THE ONE bro. PC might have gotten the left over crap.
Contrast quality of Ryse in comparison to Driveclub is like seeing Gran Turismo 5 premium cars pull up to say hi to some trackside rands cheering on.
Try it on Xbox One. That 900p really does add depth to the image. This game is also much more cinematic and easier to understand the story when its played in 25-30fps.
I'd say it would be a solid contender if anything interesting actually happened in real-time. There are a few pretty decent set pieces that are up there with the best but pretty much every cutscene is pre-rendered.
