Rumor: The Last Gaurdian Appearing at E3

Although there have been multiple rumors in the past about Team ICO’s The Last Guardian being retooled for the PS4, but there’s a twist. Here’s where we get into true “grain of salt” territory. GamingBolt received a tip regarding Arata, a Twitter user who is a friend of Fumito Ueda. Ueda served as the designer and director for the game before eventually leaving Sony. He’s still a special consultant on the project though.

The tweet from Arata was in Japanese (pictured above) and translated as: “I can not wait for the Steller’s sea eagle Toriko show of flesh-eating at # E3. I hope you are all doing well.” That tweet has since been removed.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Didn't a GamingBolt reviewer call ACIII a triumph? Sorry, but I'm not believing anything from a site that employs a reviewer like that. Not to mention that very same person posted an article regarding Atlus potentially announcing Persona 3 Velvet, which of course didn't happen.

Well, that's a little better cryptic teaser than Atlus's "Origami Rhino Oh Yo".

Should we be excited though? Ueda and his collaborating leadership have all pretty much abandoned the project, I question whether he really consulted on it or if they simply say that to maintain some of the integrity of the title. I mean I'd gladly love to be surprised with something that looks great, I just don't want to get my hopes up again and be let down, again. I've almost entirely forgotten about this game at this point. At least we got to see an HD Ico & Shadow of the Colossus on the PS3, so even if this blows chunks Ueda's legacy should carry on even if he doesn't make anything noteworthy again. Anyhow, first thing on Sony's E3 line-up I'm excited to see, unless Atlus shows us something from Persona 5, or SCE Japan Studio announces a new Siren for PS4.

and here we go again my cow friends will hype this just like watch dogs 1080p60fps and set themselfs up for a dissapointment and drag me down with them!

Toriko? "man-eating eagle"? Yup, that Tweet definitely sounds like something is cooking on the Last Guardian front.

Its been at E3 before, so who cares if its at E3 this year as well.

Another 2 minute teaser, another 6 year wait for nothing.

Pretty much what he said. I'd be surprised if we didn't see it at e3. Hell, little peeks at industry tradeshows is all we've had for like half a decade now.

If they wanna surprise me, give me a firm release date. I might pass out from the shock.

At this point in time, I don't even care, I've lost interest in the Last Guardian with the constant dev time that game has had.

Yeah, an imaginary game and an inevitably disappointing Souls game make me soooo nervous.

Sony could announce Knack 2 alone at E3 and they'd still win because cows are so incessantly loud, not to mention blind.

Even if it is at E3, it will be like coming 2015, then gets delayed again till 2016 and so on.

The likelyhood chance of this game showing up at this year's e3 is 0%. I don't know why people keep on believing these e3 rumors related to this game.

Why exactly would this Souls game be inevitably disappointing? It being made the same leads that produced Demon Souls and the Dark Souls I.

As far Knack 2 I would have more faith in that than Ryse 2.

It's the same song and dance for this game and it happens at least every single year for this game.Rumors in the last couple of years have talked about how this game would be shown at x event(like TGS or E3) and it never was shown there. I rather wait until sony's e3 conference to see if this rumor is true, but I will stick with the 0% for now or until multiple sources start confirming this rumor.

That's not true. Games like Agent have 0% chance of being shown, but the last guardian was never cancelled and has been proved multiple times that it's still in developement

And are we forgetting final fantasy versus or kingdom hearts 3? they both were vaporware and look what happened

Only final fantasy XIII versus was actually vapourware. KH3 was talked about a bit, but it was not really shown until last year. Final Fantasy 13 Versus was shown in one year and never shown for like 4 or 5 years(maybe more).I really don't fall for rumors related to TLG anymore because they never come true.

Doubtful! I believe that as much as Ubisoft and BGE2. Seriously, these games are taking DNF's old territory.

Contextually...this does seem like a really good time to show it off again with all the momentum and success they're having with the brand. Add this to the rumours it was moved to PS4 ages ago too. I think if it was going to be reannounced it will probably be this year and if it isn't consider it vapourware for good.

Yup, so that means AC3 doesn't exist. Practically no connection between them liking a game you don't and this being false. I'm not saying their story is true, but them liking AC3 is a zero factor in whether or not it is.

The only way I believe this thing to still exist is if it's actually being sold to consumers.

Even a trailer and launch date won't be enough to convince me it's coming out.

I'd just be happy with a Beast video... Sony turns, up shows their 3 min Beast video then leaves... all that needs to be shown.

right now I just see a bunch of multiplats and indies for the ps4 they just dont have the money for making big budget games. That dev told sony about a year ago he wasnt even working on that game and most likely you will never see it again

Isn't team ico pretty much dissolved? This game interested me when it was announced at the beginning of last gen, now I view the game as a joke because it doesn't seem like the developer or Sony is taking the game serious.

This years E3 is going to be great for Sony. Last year it was all about the PS4.. this year its all about the games.
