Rise of the Tomb Raider May Not Be Coming to X360

Square Enix is no longer listing the game for Xbox 360, even in their financial briefings and reports for their investors:

So basically, I am happy that the game is not cross gen any more, but I am also curious at what its exclusivity status is at this point.

I think so too. If it's not coming to SONY platform, they might as well try and reach the bigger install base on the 360.

That would suck if true. Some of us don't see a reason to spend $400 for a next gen console with few next gen games.

I'm wondering what would have spurred the decision. Feels kind of late in the development cycle so... unless what they were trying to do ended up being too much for the 360? Or Microsoft just wants to push more Xbox One consoles.

I'll wait for official confirmation anyhow. I was planning to pick it up for Xbox One anyways.

It may be the case since they tasked a different dev to make the 360 version and perhaps MS is also playing a role and gave'em a few more $$$$ and thinking they'd sell more X1's if there's no 360 version plus I'm thinking it would end up like FH2 on 360 and being almost a totally different experience than FH2 on X1.

Probably Xbox One exclusive for the holiday, and it will be released on PC 6-9 months later. Won't be coming to PS4.

cross-gen game development should have stopped 1 year ago. Gen 7 lasted longer then it should have..let it die already.

I thought they already stated that it's only coming to current-gen, only? Hell 360 is going to be 10 years old this year, let the damn thing die already.

Seems like a decent time to start cutting the links with the previous gens. 2 years in is more than enough for a decent user to form and for even the most casual to start considering the new consoles.

Could be, or maybe they just want to emphasize the XOne version more, and will still quietly release a 360 version. But then again its omission from the financial briefings is odd, if in fact there is a 360 version.

Didn't titanfall on 360 come out a lot later than the Xbone release? Maybe that's what's happening.

Good, now they can utilize the full power of the X1. Uncharted will look like shit next to ROTR (as if it didn't already) and it's not coming to PS4 cause your shitty system would explode if it tried to run it.

So you don't want a game to become exclusively a "next gen game" because the console doesn't have many "next gen games".

It was strange to even think they would put it on 360 in the first place.

Almost three years in to the current generation we're still talking about and playing old gen games. Sad.

Since that graphic specifies Holiday Season 2015 it could just mean that it is only coming to Xbox One during that time. It may come to Xbox 360, and other platforms, at a later time.

I wonder though "why?", for instance is MS leveraging the title they paid exclusivity for to push the Xbox One harder during the holidays? Or do you think the developers feel dropping the weight of the Xbox 360 port can help get a better game out of the Xbox One?

The original Tomb Raider is a half baked okay game that could have a bitchin sequel if they nail all the concepts presented in the original game. They have the shooting mechanics, now drop the cinematic scripted derp fest, and expand more on the tombs and make a better metroid styled environment. Playing that game was insulting as a Metroid fan to hear it had exploration and was taking cues from that excellent franchise, and then you get to the levels in Tomb Raider and you realize they read Metroid for Dummies and called it a day.

Man, they are locking in some really low sales for this game LOL. It is at least coming to PC, right?

I hope Crystal Dynamics/Square got PAID to sacrifice all those sales.
