Resident Evil Origins Collection announced

Capcom has announced Resident Evil Origins Collection for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, due out 22nd January 2016.

Resident Evil Origins Collection bundles together the Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil HD remakes on a disc.

Meanwhile, Capcom has announced Wesker Mode for Resident Evil 0. In it you play as Resident Evil villain Wesker who has all sorts of fancy powers, including a teleport. Check it out in the video below.

Yay! More collections! This really is the remake gen. Will this trend continue next gen?

I have Resident Evil already so not sure I'd buy it, will depend on price. If it's $50 and 0 is $20 on PSN I'll just buy it there.

I can understand the complaint if it was an Xbox360 or PS3 remake less than 1-2 years back, but both games originally released exclusively on a Nintendo platform and are well over a decade or so old, many people will not have owned the platform or simply may have been too young at the time of release.

Too bad this logic isnt applied to other remakes or re-releases from forum users.

I'm double dipping for the disc.

Have the PS3 imported retail copy but will buy again for PS4 since it includes RE0. Disc version is my number one priority when it comes to a series such as this for me. I even have RE 2 and 3 for game Cube.

My import arrived about a week ago. :(

If you're a collector i'd keep it sealed like your RE2 and 3 copies.

I have ordered the ico and shadow of the colossus HD japanese limited edition and it's still sealed. have my US copy to play.

Guess I'll be re-buying Remake HD since I really wanted a disc version for it in the first place.

I haven't had the opportunity yet. Don't usually keep my games sealed, but I might as well this time, since I plan on picking this up.

Well I'm not trying to single you out but wow...... I wish I owned capcom or any other gaming company. The ability to make money off of people like you would be so sweet and nice *sigh*

Ummmm trust me, I hate digital with a passion. In fact the day gaming is all digital is when I stop gaming. But in this scenario this person bought the digital version and is paying extra again for the disc version so essentially paying twice for the same game

Wait, RE0? What happened to RE2 HD? Why not include that too? Plus when can we expect digital releases of either RE2 or RE0?

I know people hate collections at this point, but 3 or 4 years ago I'm sure i was listing this as one of the "HD remasters" I'd like to see most. I'm sure I will get this. Guess i can sell my Gamecube versions now?

RE2 HD is still in development. Don't think we'll get that game until late 2016. Probably same day as the physical release, 22. Jan. 2016

Now thats one collection I will buy for sure. Havent played either yet and I prefer physical. But only when it hits $20

This is why is pays to wait. I was going to pick these up, but now I'll pick them up together for less money due to being able to get it from retailers during discounts.

No, that was misinformation I'm suspecting, that belief likely stems from (I believe) a Digital Foundry videos just before release of RE HD showing both PS4 and XBO and whatever method they were frame counting showed momentary dips (as far as the fps-counter went), but the dips were showing up during room-to-room load animation, and the fixed camera angle changes. As far as real time rendering went and the smoothness of the animations the game is solid from my experience on the XBO, can't speak for PS4 if there were other problems there though, but I remember at the time of the videos I mentioned people were coming here to whine about lazy port or how awful the frame dips were. I swear people don't watch the gameplay videos ever, they just watch the frame counter.

I don't think it's gone.....but it's in short supply.

Guess that explains why it won't be included. Still, funny RE2 HD should come last since they announced it before RE0 HD. But, as someone here explained to me a while back, RE0 is in a better position to be ported given it won't take as much work to upgrade the GameCube game, whereas RE2 hasn't really had the benefit of any major upgrade since it originally released.

It would be wonderfully wonderul if Resident Evil Outbreak and file 2 got the remaster treatment.

I have never liked the first Resident Evil, played the original and the Remake. It's the worst RE. But it's the RE Capcom keep shoving up everyones ass all the time. How are they milking it so much. They should have let it go after the GC version.

Yet the second and third one, fans have to beg for. The **** is this. RE2 is legendary, and RE3 with newer technology could be stunning. And Zero was great but it didn't need a remake, just a re-release.

It's not like Capcom just started doing it this gen... They've been doing it since the 16-bit days.
