World Of Tanks on 360 is the only FTP game I've enjoyed. Even then it was horrible having ads for microtransactions and getting killed by "premium" tanks with "elite" ammo.
Like MMOs and most RTS, I think I should just pass on the genre. It annoys me more than I get enjoyment from it.
@locopatho: Elite ammo? Sure, but you can also buy them for credits. And premium tanks of the same tier of the same country are average at best compared to the grindable one.
Ads on the other hand, I don't have them on PC.
I hate to sound like a company guy but Xbone is where it's at, especially with Fable Legends coming (made with Unreal Engine 4) and highly anticipated Gigantic, made by the creator of StarCraft and Guild Wars. Both these two as well as several other games will be fully cross-multiplayable.
Both Fable Legends and Gigantic are closer to being released even if Deep Down was announced at the same time as Fable Legends and Gigantic was announced in July 2014, which is again later than most of these PS4 titles.
@anthonyautumns: I don't recall the exact prices but it costs a LOT of credits vs very little real cash. As for the tanks, the premium ones may not be amazing or anything but they can be bought directly and don't have to be earned, and can be kitted out with all the perks and stuff too.
As I said, I still enjoyed the game very much, it's not exactly pay to win like many FTP games are, but I wish I could just pay the devs 50 quid and forget about money, and have a level playing field.
Gigantic is going to trump all those games combined with its unique art style alone, let alone gameplay.
Gigantic is the next big thing.
I'm on the hype train.
Nothing can stop this train.
One of the main creators of StarCraft and both Guild Wars, one of the first Diablo producers and one of the main designers of State of Decay at the helm ensures quality.
I cannot believe people ignore real, tangible things Microsoft has been doing and at the same time they revert to mythological relics from the era the PS4 was first announced.
@locopatho: I enjoyed it as well but I'm kinda annoyed to those people w/o the experience of playing WoT buying a T8 and feeding the other team.
F2P model is nonsense and it should die.
spoken like a true ignorant gamer
why is F2P such a poor model ?? i'm waiting with baited breathe :D
Most F2P games are Pay 2 win.
Don't console gamers hate F2P games and pour scorn on them, like MMO's, Moba's and RTS?
I've moved to PC this gen but am still pretty much sticking to that, I don't enjoy those genres. The only PC specific genres I really enjoy are turn based strategy and city builders.

If you are still taking those trolls seriously then you are doing it wrong. Everything counts, no matter what. Let them live in their small cave.

You couldn't sound anymore like a company guy if you tried. We already know you have a deep heartfilled connection with Microsoft and Xbox. Perhaps their biggest shill. No problems here though.
