Not all that surprising when you have hUMA and GPCPU in the mix. The CPU will be relegated to thread management while the bulk of the heavy work goes where it should go on the GCN as far as single threaded performance is concerned. It will require a massive re-engineering of the Octopiler but once it's done and fleshed out well in the toolchains, it will be irresistible to developers.

Nope, the lemmings told us the PS4 wont get a performance boost. Only XBone did with DX12.

Xbone got DX12 performance boost and yet its still being outperformed By PS4 with higher resolutions.

This is BEFORE PS4 even got a performance boost.

Late gen heh? When is that "late gen"? 6 years from now? Sick story cuz in 6 years graphics will be so over what a 7850 can achieve that even a 360 looks less outdated for 2014 in comparison. All this garbage "late gen" optimization is just that, garbage.

Okay, look. In RE: to performance upgrades, fans of all 3 consoles need to just get a grip and realize that this happens every gen. Performance upgrades and optimizations are par for the course, this happens during a generation. Why fans of every camp freak out when something is talked about is beyond me.

Is this your 1st console gen or something? Some of you fanboys act like noobs, and eat up any secret sauce rumors. Every gen, each console gets a performance boost as devs get more creative with manipulating the systems.... Nothing new.

The Cell is stored in the DS4 lightbar. That's why you can't turn it off. Only dim it.

No surprise. SONY has been several steps ahead of Microsoft this entire generation. Everything they do is strategic.

They probably withheld a large portion of the PS4's power in order to humiliate Microsoft one last time at this year's E3 conference. After June 6th, the Xbox division is probably be sold. Microsoft probably lost so much money on titanfall that they'd never be able to recoup the sunk costs.
