PS4 error (supposedly) corrupting save files...

Huh, the ONLY problem I have is about once a week the stupid Netflix app fails to load and crashes my PS4.

Backup your saves? I though that was what the cloud features were for or does the PS4 not have it?

It's likely a small issue, but some of those 4 million may disagree.

For me, it's Big Bang or Scrubs when trying to sleep.

Nothing worse than loosing a save file.

Question, dont the save files automatically save to the PSN servers anyway with PSN+?

I dunno man, save files getting loose can be a bummer, but I usually manage to find them. Now losing a save file? That really sucks.

All of the Playstation consoles have had a problem with corrupted save files. PS1/PS2 included.

If it was an actual real problem then sony would have announced it, offered advice for temporary fixes, and then fixed it. Just like they do every single time there is an actual real problem which this is not, its just some guy saying there is a problem.

IF, it is there it might not even be sonys fault, it might be some other game causing it. Kind of like when EA said that the ps4 firmware update was messing up everyones online experience in the game till they got called out on it then suddenly they said that was a mistake and they didn't mean it.

Oddly enough, the only console I ever got corrupt saves on was the 360. Not saying that means anything, anecdotal evidence is anecdotal. But I always hear these horror stories about Sony consoles and lucky me, I've never experienced any of it.

@FLOPPAGE_50: the BF4 lost save could be BF4s fault. It's happened across all platforms.

I was experimenting with some of the uplay cloud save features and I did something wrong, anyways I ended up loosing my AC4 save. I was so pissed and still am.

Yep, my BF4 save was auto-deleted. I beat the game on hard but can't play individual missions, just 'start new game'. Still have the trophies, though.

I don't mind it because it's a short game, but i would hate to lose my progress of Black Flag, or an RPG.

Ps4 with hardware and software issues on all fronts. Nothing new.

I guess more issues will pop up as time goes on though.

seriously though its an odd bug. probably not a hardware problem though. just a software bug.

i wonder is it a case of the game crashing while its automatically saving data and that causes the corruption. it doesnt seem to always cause corruption.

on a side note it would probably be a good idea for the manufacturers to put standards in place to both making saves more robust and to make developers create backup saves also. so there should be at least 2 save files and the game alternates between them. if one does get messed up at least you wont lose all your progress then.

Yeah, no shit. I see it was deleted. I didn't delete it. You think in your infinite wisdom that a TC or mod deleted it?

I wouldn't have deleted it. I was proud of that post.

I get that stupid error code on NBA 2K14 every time I try to play My Player mode. I had 40 hours AND some money wrapped up in my character creation. Every 2nd possession after loading my save file it crashes... every single time. Battlefield 4 also crashed and deleted my play progress when I was about 75% done playing the campaign.

Those are the only two games I have had problems with, but the problem is big enough with 2K14 that I have not even tried to play it in quite some time. I have been waiting for a patch confirming it is fixed.

I found a forum that suggested deleting my save file... I did NOT want to, but supposedly someone called the helpline and they were told that certain consoles that get that error have a manufacturer error and can be returned for a new console. At this point I am kind of over NBA2K14 because of the issue, BUT, if it happens to another game it will be hard NOT to get a little upset about it and possibly call the damn number myself. Other than that issue I have really enjoyed my PS4.... however, it is a big one...

I have done some research online and SONY is WELL AWARE of the problem and say they are hard at work to try and solve the issue. I guess we will see.

Well since MS and the xbone has the msot problems at this point, it only seems fair that the PS4 experience a small one like this to a few users. Luckily I have not encountered this error in my hundred of world class PS4 gaming.
