Hardly. Nvidia did a pretty good job of screwing Sony, selling them their last generation architecture as a stop gap when multi Cell failed to pan out.

You can't blame NVIDIA for Sony's selection. It's up to Sony(customer) to select the GPU IP and pay accordingly..

During Xbox1 era, MS paid NVIDIA for it's latest Geforce design with dual vertex unit improvements.

NVIDIA sells a range of GPUs. Sony gimped the GPU side for CELL. Sony could spend little on the CPU side and spend big on NVIDIA's Geforce 8 type GPU e.g. 64 CUDA core version.
