Favorite genres are Action Adventure, Shooters(FPS,TPS, some Tactical), and some Fighting games.

Genres I dislike are RTS's, RPG's, JRPG's

Exclusive games I want on the 360:

  • GeOW2(Can't live without, I need to play this game! )
  • Ninja Gaiden 2(A little iffy about this one due to reviews, but I loved the first NG)
  • Halo 3(Can live without because I played the hell out of it last year at my friends house)

Exclusive games I want on the PS3:

  • MGS4(Owned MGS for psone and loved it, played MGS2 thought it was meh, never played MGS3)
  • Uncharted(Interested, but never played so don't know if I'll like it)
  • GOW3
  • Tekken 6
  • Killzone 2(Going by the vids I saw, don't know if it will be good)

I prefer the PS3's hardware over 360. I have a wireless router and the PS3 allows me to utilize it without any extra fees. Not only that but the blu ray player is a + too. RROD is a turn off for me, but I do prefer xbl over PSN. I hate to have to pay for additional hardware(play&charge kit) and paying extra for online, but I can afford it. I hate the fact that the PS3 doesn't come with an HDMI cable.

Which one should I buy?

It sounds like you'd be happier with the 360 since you can afford buying the extra stuff.

The all around better choice this gen is 360, unless you are into more kiddy stuff, then Nintendo is your bag baby.

I wouldn't suggest you get the charge and play kit. For the same amount, you can get a rechargable battery kit and 4 batteries that work with everything that takes AA batteries. You can also pick up a 13month LIVE card from newegg for $38. I also tend to think that you will find alot more 360 games you are interested in, if you like games in the genres you listed.

You pretty much said "I want a PS3". Come on, man!

Your list has almost twice as many games you want for ps3...

you prefer ps3 hardware...

U want to use wirless router...

RROD is a "turn off"....

Hate to pay for additional hardware.

And on top of all that, you don't like rpg's, which MS dominates.

What more do you need us to tell you?

You sir seem to be the only one who thoroughly read my post. Why do you think everyone else suggested that I'd be better off with a 360?

Get a 360. Theres's a ton of games for it, XBL fees aren't really that big of a deal, and lot's of great games coming out for it. RROD, don't worry too much about it. If it happens it happens, and MS will fix your system for free, unlike Sony, whose PS2 I had to buy three of due to the disc read error. Although I don't know if Sony has a better service policy this time around. But judging by the genres you say you like, 360 is the right choice.

Also if your 360 is in the same room as your router, than just go with a wired connection. Wireless is only useful if it's in a different room, and wired gives a better connection.

Thanks. Reading comprehension is a skill of mine. Plus, I am a salesperson so determining a "customers'" needs is something I have been well trained to do.

Now the question remains; why did you ask something you already know the answer to? There are more MS fans right now than others, and as a person who "gets" human nature, it is obvious that your answer's would be to get whatever system the person answering you wants to get for himself.

What were you trying to prove?

You said only room for 1, and you can afford the extra peripherals, so....save the cash for a while buy a bigger wall unit and get both.

lol, wow, i see we have similar tastes in games...i dislike RTS's, and RPG's as well

and my list of both consoles would have been the same as urs except maybe uncharted on the ps3(it just doesn't excite me that much). i wouldn't call myself a fanboy because i will definitely dish out criticisms where its due regardless of what console. But for this gen, my hard earned cash is only going towards the ps3 because i've decided that i'm going to fight this trend of nickel and diming microsoft wants to start(i understand i'm just a single voice in a crowd but i'll do the best i can). i'ld just stick to playing the 360 games i like at my buddies'. i had all three consoles last gen but this gen, only sony has given me the most for my money....so there...

Pretty much why I got a PS3. The RRoD was the major concern for me. I'm not really sure why that isn't a big deal to anyone else.

It becomes less of an issue the more people you know with 360's that it never happens to.
