New Hardware = New hardware pr0n, and here first one from here: http://pocketnews.cocolog-nifty.com/pkns/2011/12/ps-vita-pch-110.html

Too bad they didnt remove protectors from chips, you can creally see screen is from Sumsung, if you dive to commands of that articule you can find out that vita also got CPU and GPU from Samsung and audio chip is byWolfson Microelectronic (same manufacture as iOS devices uses)

Interesting. I wonder what model it is.

Pretty sure Apple stopped using Wolfson a while back.

Pretty sure even Sony TVs get their screen from Samsung. Either screen or panel.

Yeah, Apple dropped them for Cirrus Logic, which some would argue is inferior to Wolfson. You're right it is a shame everything is covered. I would have at least liked to have known which chip the Vita is using.

Good thing the screen is made by Samsung. Samsung AMOLED screens on their phones are amazing :D

I think Sony only uses they're own panels on they're biggest TV's, so it's not really a surprise.

Shocking. I expected Sony to use their own OLED tech.

Samsung and Sony tv panels both come from the same factory production line just rebadged to suit the OEM.

So the OLED tech Sony has been showing off is not their own, instead they've been showing of Samsung's creation ? :? :?

Read that, its a joint venture between the 2, both own 50/50 give or take a share in the venture.

AAAK!

I love tech and all but that just screams "Damn my Vita is busted, gotta buy another one" when I see one like that.

It spoils da magic.

I heard it was AMOLED. So which is it? OLED or AMOLED?

Samsung OLEDs are great, so this makes me very happy :)

Well AMOLED is a type of OLED screen, and given that Samsung are making the Vita screens, its most likely that the screen will be AMOLED.

PSP-1000 series had a SHARP screen. I guess Samsung must be better?

Samsung's line of OLED displays is arguably the best mobile display technology in general.
