PS+ March Titles Mini Hype Thread | C'mon Soony!

In advance of today's eventual announcement on PS Blog, let's all cheer up a bit with the announcement of some games with your PS+ subscription!

So far Helldivers, a four player co-op dual stick shooter for Vita and PS4 is pretty much confirmed by the developer as a PS+ launch title.

Who knows what else is coming? Olli Olli 2, sequel to GameSpot's GOTM for January last year, was announced for a release on the first Tuesday of March with no price. You do the math ;)

I'm replaying Rogue Legacy NG+ on PS4 (PS+ this month).

Helldivers is another one of those PS+ games that are so new there is no metascore yet like Velocity 2X. The video showed a four player top down shooter game. It's made by the Magicka guys, so they incorporated the ability to have friendly fire, so you have to be careful. It's another cross buy game, like Rogue Legacy, where you get the game for Vita, PS3, and PS4.

No helldivers!? Damn you guys for getting my hopes up. Still buying it on launch day... Quality indies deserve that kind of respect.

I hope people don't simply write off helldivers as a shallow twin stick shooter either... If you've played Magicka, especially cooperatively you know you're in store for a game that asks you to consider so much more than pulling a trigger.

And OlliOlli 2? I'm hooked on the good blow right now and it's called OlliOlli... A second game will be straight up overdose.

I didn't know you can play Rogue Legacy on the PS4. It only says "Vita" on the PSN page.. I'd like to try that out.

Ps+ has been totally worth it so far.. Makes you very excited for the beginning of each month.

@heretrix: ps3,ps4 and vita.... And it's cross save/cross buy. Oh and it's really awesome... I NG+4'ed that game, maxed the skill tree out and cleared the castle on a single run.... I love it to no end.

Cellar Door Games has a strict no sequel policy, but they said they'd possibly ammend it for a new Rogue.

@heretrix: That's the beauty of cross-play. Be sure to check that out properly. They're not always 100% clear on that. My brother almost missed out on it.

Do you have PS+?

That tells me you probably have missed like 12 PS+ "free" games on PS4 that you had access too (and still might have access if you DLed them on your PS3 back when other titles were available).

Sony doesn't advertise certain Vita or PS3 PS+ games for PS4, but if you DL them for your PS3 or Vita and then go to the PS4 PSN store, they are free due to the cross buy feature.

If you don't have PS+ but you own Rogue Legacy for Vita or PS3, you still have the cross buy and can enjoy it on PS4.

Starting back in June 2014, Sony released other "cross-buy" games like PixelJunk Shooter: Ultimate, Fez, Sportsfriends, Doki-Doki Universe, Velocity 2X, Pix the Cat, Escape Plan, Steamworld Dig, Spelunky, The Swapper, Titan Attacks, The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, and more that although were marketed for PS3 or Vita, were also available on PS4. It's really useful if you don't have a Vita because you can DL Vita games on your PS3 if you want and the delete them, go to your PS4 and pick them up.

Rogue Legacy is another one of these games that while not advertised for PS4, is cross buy and ready to go. It works in reverse too. Recently, Resogun was made available on PS3 and it's free to DL if you have it on PS4.

Sony gave two games to the PS4, but these extra cross buy games are a nice bonus (Rogue would be the 3rd game available for PS4 this month counting Rogue Legacy)...you just have to keep track if a game is cross buy. Not all publishers support cross buy.

That's why I posted I was playing Rogue Legacy on PS4 at the top. I was hoping someone might wonder. Mission accomplished and I hope you are able to access other cool bonus PS+ titles on your PS4 that you may have queued up.

Rogue Legacy is so good! Simply can's stop playing it (level 108 so far) :P

Last gen excitement is fading. When people talk about GWG and PS+, they are usually talking about current gen PS4/Xbone.

I know all about the services, I own both 360 and Xbone and own every GWG game so far and I've been with XBL since the original Xbox 1.

I started it not too long ago and I love it. So addictive.

just because a game is new doesn't mean its part of this generation its a throw back indie from the 80-90's the budget is like 2 people thats not a current gen game imo its fart in the wind stop the last gen games on gold are bigger hitters then the ps4 offering indies on the ps+ which is just rentals an no owning them

the game runs perfectly fine on 10-15 year old pc's they prolly brining it to 20 dollar phones as well playing it on a ps4 is a waste teh tech inside ps4 isn't adding anything to the game you can play it on a toaster with steam u could play it on multiple devices if u buy it for ps4 its just for ps4 i belive such a waste imo

When it comes current gen consoles PS4 PS+ / Xbone GWG, you don't keep the games. You don't own Xbone GWG or PS4 PS+ games. They are equal in that respect.

Also, PS+ doesn't just offer indies though.In fact, PS4 PS+ was the first to offer a retail title to the gamers.

InFamous First Light and Injustice: Gods Among Us – Ultimate Edition appeared a few months ago for instance. That said, both Xbone and PS4 offer mostly indies because they are new machines.

Tomb Raider and Bioshock Infinite showed up a year ago on PS+ for PS3. PS3 PS+ destroys 360 GWG when it comes to getting newer retail games. The only advantage 360 had was you get to keep the games, but they were always older games than PS+ PS3.

Plus, PS+ is cheaper and you get more games and higher quality games (metascores) for PS3 or PS4.

32 PS+ PS4 games > 11 GWG Xbone games.

Worms Armaggedon is not for Xbone. Worms Battleground was however...and I thought you said you only cared for big titles and not:

Worms would be a "throw back budget fart in the wind title" that you have been against. Also, it's not sold at Walmart (http://www.walmart.com/search/?query=Worms%20Battlegrounds) and Xbox.com has it priced at 24.99. Worms Battlegrounds ($24.99), not $50. You can of course get overcharged somewhere and pay $500 on ebay if you'd like, but that won't change that Worms is a budget title.

No, if you buy it for PS4, you get it for Vita and PS3 as well. Rogue Legacy is Cross-Buy.

Other ps4 indies such as Shovel Knight don't have cross buy/play and cost $20 dollar per platform aka ala you would have to buy shovel knight 3 seperate times to play it on all those sony platforms, sounds good right well to you it seems like a great purchase which is disgusting to me

PS+ (YOU OWN NOTHING) This is 100% accurate. No one will or should tell you any different, if they did they would just be lying to themselves in front of others. It's a damn shame too because PS+ spans across 3 different platforms and it also had a huge head start offering these games. It's a huge disappointment because you can't even keep not even one for any of the systems the subscription is available for. Speaking about head start, the offering of free games for the PS4 was made available almost a whole year before the Xbox One started to offer free games. By the time Xbox One had 2 games out, the PS4 already had 10. So it's hilarious to always see SW's very own secratary or accountant or just special person who counts games to state the obvious that one has more than the other especially when one had a head start on a monthly basis.

Also notice how they bring up just one portion of your argument when bringing up the fact of no ownership of games with PS+. You were talking about PS+ which includes PS4/PS3/Vita but for some odd reason they just bring up Xbox One as if Xbox 360 didn't exist anymore. The fact is with a Gold subscription which offers games for Xbox One/Xbox 360, you get ownership of games, Xbox 360 games. But with a PS+ subscription which offers games for PS4/PS3,Vita, you do not and will not ever own any one of these games. It's so strange they will talk about and acknowledge the games for all the systems within the subscription but for some odd reason when you bring up keeping GwG games for the Xbox 360 all of a sudden the Xbox 360 doesn't exist anymore in the subscription comparison. Especially for someone that pride themselves of owning and keeping all systems, it's downright weird how the Xbox 360 is all of a sudden is fading as if the GwG games would fade on that system too. Should be happy that the Xbox 360 will have an instant game collection with or without a subscription and after the free game support has ended. Can't say that for the PS3.

So for those that love listing and counting games, let's count how many games you keep for both subscriptions, I'll even change font size and even make it bold, somehow doing these things gets people attention.

GwG offered to own so far: 44 games (and counting)

PS+ offered to own so far: 0 games (will always be 0)

As you could see, this what happens when you pick and choose what you want to highlight. They love to pick and choose what to highlight in the subscription. So yes because of the head start PS+ will always have more games. So yes even with the PS+ head start with Gold you will always have more games to own. It's just strange how SW's very own special game counter will not count the total of games you could own with these subscriptions. Well at least the incorrect false claims of MS promises are corrected and should be put to rest now. Lol.

I was tempted to get Transistor, but I had just beat it on PC and didn't feel like playing it again so fast. That and I'm curious how well the tactical mode works with the touchscreen.
