Happy New Year! Since access to PlayStation Network was impacted during the holidays, we wanted to show our appreciation for your patience by offering all PlayStation Plus members that had an active membership or free trial on December 25th a membership extension of five days. The extension will be automatically applied, so no action is necessary to receive the extension. We will post additional information here on PlayStation.Blog when the extension becomes available. If your membership or trial ends before the extension is available, you will receive five days of Plus to enjoy once the extension becomes available (we will notify you when).

In addition, sometime this month we will announce that for a limited time, we will be offering a 10 percent discount code good for a one-time discount off a total cart purchase in the PlayStation Store as a thank you to all PSN members.

I'll take it. I didn't even try signing into PSN (or had any intention) while it was down, but I'll take an extra 5 days.

@Blabadon: 5 free PS+ days and a discount? I'll take it. I wasn't complaining, but I paid 13 cents a day and I was down for a day and a half so that's about 20 cents of service I'm owed by the lizards. I'm glad they are throwing us a bone for what Lizard boyos did by overcompensating and giving us five days and a PS Store discount on top.

I believe I can apply the 10% off on things already on PS+ discount at the register, so sweet. I noticed that option recently at checkout to add an additional code for discounts...awesome.

XBL was down for at least a day (not as long), I wonder what they have up their sleeves...

Then again, it was the Lizards that did this and it's them who should pay.

I hope this doesn't mean more DDOS hackpunks will be doing this every year and people will line up for goodies.

Yeah, the 10% will come after on the sales are over. lol!! I'd like to get that 10% now, while there are still a bunch of sales going on in the PS Store.

Games with Gold for Xbone is having a sale for The Walking Dead Season 1 & 2 for $25.

PlayStation Plus for PS4 is having a sale for The Walking Dead Season 1 for $6, and Season 2 for $6, both for $12.

I'm cool with it... Twas only a mild irritation on my end. Family time and such.

I just went ahead and did the TellTale Collectors Bundle for $55, which is a better deal.

I saw that DwG "deal" for $55 on the Xbone dashboard and noticed it came off as a terrible deal, unless you want those games new and now and bundled...especially if you have some of those in that collection as many TellTale fans do. Walking Dead fans however, aren't necessarily TellTale fans. I brought up an amazing and cheap deal and you brought up an expensive deal.

In fact, PSN had those games far cheaper in the past save for the two recent games (border, thrones). Steam of course too, but that goes without mention. It's only a deal if you only have an Xbone and are used to paying full price. I have noticed many of their deals with Gold aren't very good on Xbone yet, especially looking at multiplatform games on other machines.

Either way, PS has a great deal for The Walking Dead Season 1 for $6 or Season 2 for $6 (you can choose to buy both for $12). That entire 5 game Xbone collection for $55 (only 50% off), you can't choose anything but to buy it all bundled up and their separate Walking Dead sale is a joke at $25.

10% is pretty weak considering all the sales that just ended.

5 days is okay, although it doesn't make up for the inconvenience of not being able to play during the holidays.

I'm amazed how SW has been level headed about this. Places like Facebook make it look like a few days offline and they should deserve a beach house.
