Options are arranged into a number of menus, including "Visual FX", "Authenticity", "Field of View" and "Movement". We can tweak post-process features such as bloom, crepuscular rays and screen-space effects (rain/dirt), and tailor the field of view to our liking.

We're used to PC games offering these sorts of graphics options, but console games typically do not allow players to tweak the visuals to such an extent.

This could be the start of a new trend, allowing users to drop something in favor of getting better frames is something PC games have done for years, wonder how deep it will be and if it will catch up.

I put it on a different thread because so it can be discuss if people will like to have PC like setting on consoles.

That's more to tweak the visual style of the game than anything or give themselves a bit more field of view if they feel it's too constricting.

^^^this.

Lots of games have these sort of options, I don't think its going to make much difference in terms of game performance, just preference.

those aren't pc like settings. They're basic alterations to camera elements, like blur and fov.

None of the options on the screens have any real impact in performance

Honestly, stuff like a fov slider should be the most basic stuff a console game should have.

sms is abit more pc centric so these options aren't all that surprising. Simialr to War Thunder has options and full k/m on the ps4, since it's a pc game.

I don't expect general AAA studios to give much to console in terms of options. Which si fucking stupid. More options is always good

Allowing console gamers to fully customise their game settings to their preference would be a good thing.

Bioshock did it years ago and it never caught on unfortunately. It had an option to turn down graphical settings to get 60fps (or at least a higher frame rate).

@tormentos:

SMS is a PC centric game studio and Project Cars was mostly funded by the PC community (80,000 users) and devs.

I paid help Project Cars development as a full member level.

Project Cars runs great on my desktop PCs. Good to see console results i.e. for XBO, PS4 and I'm looking forward to Wii U version.

SMS did their best for PS4 e.g. multi-threading rendering.

Multi-threading effects render for Wii U.

I think more options are a good thing. Even if they dont make much of a difference.

FoV adjustments and an option for different AA than garbage FXAA is the least i'd expect from a console with "next gen" on the box.

More options are always good for games.
