I still maintain that the Gamecube is, at best, garbage.

My choices lie between the Cube and the 360...which isn't even a decision, one of the best versus one of the worst.

Why is any thread made in System Wars? For discussion's sake? We all know how this ends, incidentally PlayStation 2 wins but does that mean we can't actually discuss how the best showings of the competition stack up? Or was this post an attempt to scry an ulterior motive where none really exists? 'Oh no, someone is comparing systems on a board called system wars! Clearly there's something fishy going on here!'

ps2 game big gaming boost and Xbox 360 was the console that changed online gaming forever. Thanks to Xbox 360 you have online games on consoles. If we had no Xbox 360 then had no online store, no stats, no rank system, no dlc, no friend list, no updates and stuff like that.

I'm going with PS2. I'm not even sure how X360 made it up there and there was no "Best Sega System" listed.

It's Genesis followed by Dreamcast.

TC made threads earlier this week asking for the best platform of each console manufacturer. Those are the ones that came out on top.

And now, they are put up against each other.

Sadly I am forced to vote PS2. because choices are like that.

PS2 sold like hot cakes and had more games on it then you could ever possibly play imo (not saying a bad or good thing). I'd still say the original Xbox was the creme of that generation's crop as far as quality, online, and features. As for this pole, the ps2 will win but i'll vote for 360 since it provided me the most entertainment

How is this even a debate? Yes, opinions and all that but...really? The PS2 is in a different universe compared to the 'Cube and 360. I loved all three but the differences in the amount of quality titles is a significant one.

for me x360 because thats when i started to hardcore game on consoles but if u look at the libraries it has to be ps2, it is just a damn monster. and gamecube? lol gamecube

I have mad love for the GameCube, but I voted PS2. In fact, I think you could argue that generation was the best of all time.

360. Better online and better games.

They are all great consoles

The Gamecube has a small pool of exclusives i care for, the 360 has none except the Halo series, so i'll go with the PS2.

1. Xbox 360 - This is my third favorite console of all time after the N64 and SNES. It had a great library of games with the superior version of multiplats 90% of the time, it had the greatest controller of all time, it was innovative with things like digital marketplace and Achievements, and it had an amazing online service that was far better than what the competition offered, took online gaming mainstream, and made playing games online with friends easy and just as much fun as being in the same room with them.

2. GameCube - The GameCube is a mixed bag to me. On one hand, the GameCube was disappointing because I feel that the GameCube delivered the worst entry in many of my favorite Nintendo franchises like Super Mario, Zelda, Mario Kart, Donkey Kong, and StarFox, but on the other hand, it was home to two of my favorite games of all time and my favorite games of it's generation, Resident Evil 4 and Super Monkey Ball. It was also a great console for parties.

3. PS2 - This is my least favorite console that I've ever owned and I've owned all of the major ones from Nintendo, Sega, Microsoft, and Sony except for the Master System. Now, had I not also owned a Xbox and GameCube, I'm sure I would have appreciated this console much more, but I did own the others and nearly every great game that appealed to me in the PS2's library had a superior version available on either Xbox or GameCube, so the PS2 was useless for multiplats to me. So this was an exclusives-only console to me and the genre that the PS2 was dominant for with exclusives was Japanese RPGs, which is a genre that I hate. The only PS2 exclusives that I really loved was the God of War games and that makes it the weakest out of all the other consoles I owned for their exclusives only. So with it having the weakest version of multiplats, not many exclusives that appealed to me, a controller that I hate, and not really bringing much innovation to gaming in my opinion, it ranks as my least favorite console that I've ever owned.

PS2 wins really easily

1. PS2 since it has FF games and Disgaea games. Oh and MGS games.

2. Gamecube since it had Tales of Symphonia and 2 great Zelda games. Mario Kart was really awesome too. and the Best Paper Mario game.

3. Xbox 360 since it had DoA4 and I guess Halo.

The cube puts up a good fight, but ultimately, it loses to the PS2 because of the fab 3rd party support.

GC? WTF?

Just looks like pure disdain for Xbox. I guess it's a fair opinion, but I'll never understand it. GC was so bad I jumped ship and bought an Xbox, I was a pure sheep then and it pushed me over to another console.

The N64 deserves to be in this list over the GC. GC isn't even as good as the original Xbox. I'd choose a GameBoy over the GC. I'd choose the Wii over it, at least then I'd get netflix.

Just looking at that horrible game cube controler, it makes you wonder what were they smoking at nintendo when they created such a terrible design for it. No wonder the game cube became one of the biggest failitures in the history of gaming.

game cube lasted an entire generation and it only sold like 20 million. That is a massive failure when compared to other consoles.

Agreed. The controller prevented a decent version of one of the best fighters I've played (Capcom Vs SNK 2) coming to the console.

It's not even about being a fanboy, it's about consoles getting their dues, and no matter what I think of any company or whether I own the console, I can respect certain consoles regardless. Such as the Nes, SNES, PS1, PS2, PS3 and yes I truly believe the Xbox 360 has earned a place among them.

In secondary places the N64 did some ground breaking stuff. The Dreamcast made some impacts. The Xbox made some impacts and brought some great western gaming to consoles. The Saturn had something to it.

Most of the GCs best games were living in the N64s shadows. Mario 64, Zelda OoT, Star Fox 64, MK 64, DKR, Goldeneye, the RARE golden age of games. The N64 spanked the GC and its new variants of the same games apart from maybe FZero GX and Smash Bros.

The GC was only a bit better than the Wii and along with the Wii was one of Nintendo's worst consoles, and it certainly hasn't earned a place with the other great consoles and certainly no where near more so than the original Xbox between its 1st party, 3rd party games and online service.

XBOX Original sold BARELY over that amount. Is that too one of the biggest gaming failures by your logic? It doesn't even compare to what the SEGA CD, 32X, Atari Jaguar, Apple Pippin and CDi sold.

Hell, no failure touches the Gizmondo. NOTHING!
