Platinum feels things will be better when Bayo2 releases.

We really wanted to make Bayonetta 2. And Bayonetta 2 is a project that we were passionate about. And when we couldn’t… when the business situation changed and we couldn’t make it the way that we were originally planning on making it, we definitely wanted to make sure that our project survived. I’ve seen Bayonetta 2 – I look at it every single day of my life when I’m in the office. It’s really cool and the world is going to be a better place because Bayonetta 2 is in it.

I spend a lot of time on Twitter seeing people get really angry, ‘Why is it not on PS3 and 360?’ Right? So kind of the way it went was, ‘Why do we have to buy a Wii U for one game? Why isn’t it on PS3 or 360?’ And now that the Xbox One and the PS4 are out, it’s ‘Why isn’t it on PS4 or Xbox One?’ So then it’s not about buying a piece of hardware, it’s just that you didn’t want it on the Wii U.

And that’s cool, I mean maybe that system’s not for you, or maybe that platform isn’t what you want to play games on, but we really want to make Bayonetta 2 and we think it’s going to be a fun game and the people who do play it are going to really enjoy it and I think that we made the right decision to make sure that game survived. I mean I’d rather be in a world with Bayonetta 2 than without."

Okay, that first paragraph (in the second column) is just going to make Platinum more enemies. And I honestly doubt the world will "get better when that game releases" (for obvious reasons).

The world is totally a better place with Bayonetta 2. Bayonetta is terrific.

It won't sell worth a damn, but not a single **** will be given on my end. Now get me a release date.

I hope Bayonetta 2 is as amazing as the Kamiya directed and created first game, my Wii U would love it. Otherwise, I'll pick it up for $30ish depending.

I don't think it's going to sell well, but I think it will be a good game, but I'm hoping it's great. Certainly reminds me of Capcom's exclusive "Capcom 5" Gamecube deal (P.N.#3, Viewtiful Joe, Killer 7, Dead Phoenix, and RE4) oh so long ago. They were all going to be exclusive, but then it turned out only P.N.#3 stayed exclusive. That Clover Capcom 5 deal didn't result in amazing sales, but it was worth a shot. Platinum is basically Clover and they are teaming up yet again with Nintendo. The Wii U is already struggling, Bayonetta 2 is niche and didn't sell well when it was on PS360. I don't see it doing better on a tiny install base for the Wii U but it would be nice.

I'm getting it day one, whenever that may be. I just don't see how any fan of this (admittedly niche) genre could not be somewhat excited about this game.

Platinum games. What a great studio. Everything they make is worth playing. But the sales will be on the low end side. Just ask Wonderful 101.

But I have a Wii U and will get this game. Sales be damned.

Unfortunately Nintendo games just destroy every other game on its own system. What he's saying is his biggest asset, having Nintendo publish them, is also their greatest problem. Mario kart and everything else will get more attention and out sell Bayonetta 2.

Nintendo should just call their next system, THE MARIO. I mean who are we kidding? That what you buy their stuff to play.

Feel bad. On one hand Bayonetta wouldn't exist without Nintendo, but the WiiU sold like and continues to sell like hot garbage. It's like it's an exclusive sent out to die. I'm hoping that because of really bad sales it get's ported to the other boxes to save face. Pretty sure Ninja Gaiden: Razor's Edge was WiiU exclusive for a while and look how that turned out(or unless it was never exclusive in the first place).

I'm afraid this is the cold truth.

I would love to see bayo 2 running on the PS4 with all the bells and whistles turned all the way up. A game like needs horsepower and the wiiu ain't got it.

But it will exist, and that's the bottom line. It's infinitely better for Bayonetta 2 to exist and bomb, than to never be released at all.

Right now, it's not good. The game is 100% destined to bomb hard in sales because the Wii U is a commercial failure. Strong, smart and agressive marketing is the only thing that can save the system and do a 180 degree turn on the Nintendo brand. But for whatever reason, Nintendo refuses to do the only thing that can save the system from oblivion. So the game will not sell well. The PS4 has a bunch of shitty, worthless exclusives designed as filler until the big guns hit, yet it sold through the roof because of excellent brand power and fantastic marketing.

But, years down the line, no one will give a **** about sales and these games will be there for anyone interested in them. Just like how i found Panzer Dragoon Orta and Jet Set Radio Future for the original Xbox, two of the greatest games ever made, there will be people that will find Bayonetta 2 and Wonderful 101.

And that's all i could ask for, as a gamer. I hold no stocks and no emotional investment, so selling well is a completely irrelevant thing for me as long as the game itself exists so i can purchase it.

If it wasn't for Nintendo Bayo 2 would probably not have been released so people just be glad its being released.

The first one was one of the best Hack and Slash action game in last Gen! Is a shame that the 2nd one only coming out for the WII-U. Sony or MS should have funded this game like Nintendo! ooh well!

Couldn't that be said for just about ANY game though? Might as well have said that for Nintendo's own damn IP's.

Wonderful 101 was a New IP that was very japanese centric. Not exactly a system seller.

It needed saving because it was a great game that didn't sell well. Nobody would care about the game if it wasn't good.

The game can be totally awesome but it still isn't going to do much to sell itself or its system. Poor Platinum. Glad I have a WIi U though.

Why would anybody care about that? The game is going to be out there for those who are interested to play on a cheap console, and it is going to be great.

Bayonetta 1 didn't sell all that well when it was on the 360 and PS3 which had a much better instal base. I guess it boils down to how much Nintendo pays them.

If DK can't what chance has Bayonetta 2 got. It's not like it's an household name like Mass Effect or Assassins Creed.

Just got a Wii u today. Can't wait for bayonetta 2. Loved the first one.

I see the argument about why it being a Nintendo exclusive is going to hurt sales, seeing that it's not the kind of game that typically sells on Nintendo platforms, but I seriously don't understand why people can't grasp that Nintendo's paying for this game. They're funding the project, it's theirs. It belongs to them because they're putting in the resources to make the game. I find it mind-boggling that people refuse to understand it won't ever come to another platform.
