I love that its coming to the ps4 because now SOE finally optimized the game properly for PC.

Meh. It makes sense for them to put it on PC first then port it to consoles anyways.

They improved the performance of the PC version about a year or so ago.

I'm reading on reddit that people are finding performance of the PC version has now dropped considerably.

Thats a load of tosh, Planetside 2 has never ran so well,the performance gains over the last year have been huge,i have been playing PS2 since the Beta and the framerates have easily doubled since then on exactly the same hardware.

I believe it when they say that the PS4 version is running on Ultra settings,that is how damn impressive their performance gains have been.

Meh. Performance is the last thing PS4 owners should be worrying about. Let alone is Performance/Graphics or KB/M controls the thing Hermits should claim superiority over for this game

Planetside 2 is a game that relies on large community organization and the existence of large VoIP services like Mumble or Teamspeak 3; to take advantage of the scope of this game's mechanics.

I dont think Planetside 2 should release on PS4 unless the console offers similar communication services. Otherwise it will be this adhoc shitty excuse for 'organization/teamwork' (Modern Battlefield community) in a intimidating and overwhelming map that will just drive most people that try to play it like a BF completely away.

i have just upgraded recently and have not played it since but i had a nearly 5 year old 1st Gen core i7 4.0ghz and a 2 year old 7970ghz and i was running on ultra at 1080 with 4xmsaa with sweet Fx ontop running Smaa at very high, so quite alot of peformance hungry options, before the updates i was getting 30-60fps with lots of stuttering and after the peformance updates i was getting 50-120 fps and it was very smooth,they really have done a good job easily enough to get a decent PS4 version up and running

Very boring shooting mechanics sadly. Rather than fast frantic gameplay of AVP or Tribes: Ascend the player moves around like a tank, standing still and using iron-sights. Very yawn making.

AVP used to be a pinnacle of MP, my friend.

Planetside 2 fucking sucks, SOE could learn a thing or two from a console master race developr like Naughty God.

I guess they'll have to settle for in-game VOIP or have a laptop or PC nearby for Teamspeak.
