PC exclusive RPG Divinity: Original Sin coming in June

This game looks crazy. A trully AAA PC exclusive. This game will feature real-time exploration and turn-based XCOM-like combat. The reviews for the Early Access on Steam were pretty flattering so far.

A true PC MASTER RACE quality here, guys. An RPG of the year contender easily. Only Project Eternity may dethrone it.

This is the first party-based Baldur's Gate-style RPG in years. If you are into party-based story-driven RPGs, like Dragon Age etc, then you should chek it.

Not Supreme Commander though.

I've been enjoying the early access/beta a lot. Though, I'm a Divinity and Larian fan.

Looks okay. I think maybe you play games that, to me, look just okay, @jhonMalcovich. :P

Is the combat turn based? Or is it that horrific real time with pause a la Baldurs Gate?

Turn based a la XCOM, Fallout Tactics etc.

I have been searching for a turned based rpg with summons for awhile now. You just made me excited about a game for the first time in ages. lol Thanks for sharing!

Looks okay, but I wouldn't consider it AAA quality. Console gamers wouldn't like it anyway.

I imagine the PC version would have to well first though; from the kickstarter updates it sounds like they're pouring all their money and effort into making this their magnum opus. From the gameplay I've seen compared to their other titles, I'd agree.

Console RPGs don't even come close to what PC offers . Are there any RPGs on consoles at all .? All I see is Action games with RPG elements , none of them are as good as The Witcher , Legend of Grimrock , Torchlight 2 etc .

One of the few PC exclusives I look forward too.

This game looks brilliant and is easily my most hyped game. The Beta is incredible, and I play it occationally despite how frequently new updates like to kill all my progress, but I dont mind too much since the game is just so brilliant.

But comparing it to Baldur's Gate is pretty stupid, the only real similarity is that both are isometric RPGs. Comparing this to Ultima 7 (the game that inspired all those recent TES games) would be much wiser. Turn based goodness and good RPG fun, here I come :D

Define recent, and whether or not "consoles" include what the DS/3DS/PSP/Vita has to offer. Because I can think of several of good RPGs.

I agree that The Witcher 1 was good, but The Witcher 2 was nothing but a rolling/QTE simulator, not an RPG. And the Witcher 3 looks to go further down the downward spiral :(

@Maroxad: There are 3-4 QTEs in Witcher 2 which can be completely turned off in options . Witcher 3 is huge improvement over last games , not sure how it is going downhill . Still I respect your opinion and feel free to name few Complex AAA RPGs that came out on consoles in last 5 years exclusively .

The only AAA RPG on consoles in the past 5 years that I can think of that wasnt a glorified action game was Xenoblade Chronicles, but that isnt exactly complex. There are plenty of niche complex RPGs, but none of htose are high budget AAA mass appeal games. Be it Etrian Odyssey, Shin Megami Tensei (not talking about that Persona non-sense) or The Dark Spire. Though if by complex you mean deep, I could add in Pokemon and those SRPG games like Tactics Ogre remake for PSP and Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor to that complex list.

I really enjoy the isometric RPG genre. You can fit a lot of Choice and Consequence and depth into these types of games and they age well depending on their art style. A game like BG 2 holds up very well even today visually/artistically. imo, not to mention it being a masterpiece of role playing.

So , not much on Xbox 360 and PS3 then . That's what I meant .

I know this is system wars, but I truly do hope console gamers get a version of this at some point. Why? So they can experience a proper RPG, something more than the dumbed down action games and whackamole shooters that are being passed off as RPGs nowadays.

Finally someone with brain . Your intentions are good but the problem is the audience . Such games never sell well on consoles . Look at sales of Witcher 2 , Portal 2 and Diablo 3 on consoles . Just Terrible . Now look at sales of COD and Gears .

They rather have another cover based shooter than sophisticated games like this one .

And I use aaa/aa count and multiplat superiority to show you PC gaming is still factually better than consoles.

cannot wait.. Divinity and Wasteland 2 are probally my most anticipated PC games this year. im tempted to just go ahead and buy the early access. i love isometric games

after 9 years....I'd rather have more aaa/aa games and the best multiplats over 2 GOTYs.

Do you really have to put down console gamers in your original post TC. While I myself am a PC gamer I enjoy a good game no matter what platform it's released on. While I'd like the game to be released on everything that doesn't always happen. Can't we just appreciate the game for what it is. Focus on the game not the people who play them.

I've even seen people saying they want Star Citizen to come to console but only if you can have a third person combat view with ships and the FPS ship boarding is third person with a cover mechanic!

Marketing budget and Gamespot GOTY awards, the only things that count when considering if a game is good or not.

Divinity is looking good, I'm looking forward to it. Been playing the Wasteland 2 Beta, lots of little bugs for them to iron out but it's a lot of fun as well :)

Like most of PS4/3 library save for 1 or 2 movie games a year?
