PC and Consoles on an even playing field?

You like good shallow games... what is that second sentence in proper English?

PC, PS4, VITA owner here... where are these good console games "that I can't get elsewhere"?

Don't tell me, Infamous Second Son .... that throw away title after 2 days.

Its quite funny isn't it... PC Gamers hyepe graphically impressive games when they are actually interesting (E.G Crysis 1, Star Citizen) .... console gamers claim not to be graphics whores.

Yet most of their critically acclaimed titles are all about the graphics..... and do not focus on gameplay. (minus nintendo... and some exceptions like demon souls/little big planet) ...

Look at infamous second son... it had no legs on the sales charts even, just upfront tech-demo wanting graphics whores. meanwhile, games like Titanfall are mocked for their graphics... yet are still near the top of charts on a monthly basis... and played by alot more people.

Killzone.... Infamous.... Uncharted..... Last of Us..... Resistance..... 5 graphic whoring franchises that don't excel at gameplay in their genre... god of war went drastically down hill as well.

Where are these amazing GAMES cows? metal gear solid is no longer yours. Final fantasy is no longer yours.... kingdom hearts.... just first party graphic whoring studios with no longetivity.

90%+ of games are on every platform, and those games are cheaper - sometimes dramatically so - and look better on PC. They also have more control options. And many of the 'indie' games you enjoy probably were originally released on PC first. You also have access to a library of games dating back 20+ years. So I disagree.

Fallout, The Elder Scrolls, Deus Ex, Diablo, Metro, The Witcher, all no longer yours, hermits.

Pretty sure I cna play fallout, Elderscrolls, Deus Ex, Diablo, Witcher, MEtro on my PC.... Not only that but I cna play MORE games in those franchises than any console gamer. AND every single one of those games looks, runs, and plays better on PC.

Happy to share our games with you console gamers, I know you guys have basically nothing without PC franchises. Plus we hate it when you start port begging for all them cool PC games ;)

That's because the PC has a LOT, as in hundreds more exclusives than a PS3. It's just a matter of numbers.

But you have to play those on console with crappy graphics/gimped settings/low draw distance and laggy FPS.

Have you seen the difference between modded Elder Scrolls/Fallout on PC and what it's like on console? Or the Witcher 2 for that matter? Or just about any multi-plat game ever (95 % of upcoming games too.)

I really dont see the point in bragging about playing compromised games. If I was you I'd stick to the GOTY argument and keep hyping the likes of TLOU/Uncharted 2.

KEY DIFFERENCE: PC has many MANY more titles to lose.... now all the consoles have is a small list of first party titles to fall back on, most of which are graphic whoring shallow shooters! such depth... such value... wow.

"better" is subjective, while some may think console exclusives are "better", maybe I think console exclusives are garbage or "movies"

maybe consoles aren't worth it for me because i don't want to pay 60 dollars for a 4 hour movie with another copy-paste team deathmatch

I probably just stick to the PC as I prefer muli-plats such as Batman and I prefer to play them at their best.

Apart from Nintendos' consoles, the consoles just arent what they used to be. They are wannabe PCs now and better exclusives is an ignorant excuse based on availability to the individual user.

Games on PC dont receive the amount of marketing console games get as games for PC pretty much advertise themselves to their respective audience via popular networks like Youtube, Origin and Steam. You very rarely see PC games advertised on TV. Exclusives on consoles are few and far between and the ones that are actually worth owning a console for are even fewer. Console gamers are told whats good and what to buy by advertising hype. Exclusives get more attention because these games are used as ammunition against the opposing systems. "Buh but your console doesnt have Halo! Mah exclusives!"

PCs main advantages for PC gaming are; more games, more high scoring games, more genres of games, more original games, better graphics, better performance, customized experiences, better multi platform games and mods. The remaining few advantages of owning a console are almost all exclusive to Nintendos' platform. Its something most "console gamers" turned their back on in favor of a more PC like gaming experience offered by the Microsoft and Sony platforms.

Disagree all you want, but as long as it doesn't offer any of the games I care about it will continue being unappealing to me.

Zelda , Mario, MK, Smash, Puppeteer, Pokemon, Uncharted, TLOU, Heavenly Sword, Fire Emblem, Metroid, GOW..... I could go on, but you get the point.

I don't have to chose since I own both but if I had to I'd go with consoles. Consoles have better exclusives and other than some shooters and Sims I prefer playing most of my games on consoles.

Mutiplat = available to play on both PC and consoles or are only available on consoles leaving out PC

Exclusives = only available on one platform

If a game is mutiplat it's not an advantage for either PC or consoles, exclusives games are. I said the best games of the industry are either multiplats or console exclusive.

nah the playing field is totally uneven, furthermore there are a bunch of compromises, and sometimes the results of these compromises can be down to personal preferences (eg collecting game discs).

as for the games, well i've got no inclination to buy a next gen console yet, because none of the next gen exclusives appeal.

my next big purchase is very likely to be a GPU rather than a next gen console.

This is a forum, people will have different opinions. I'm not saying his is wrong or that mine is right, only that I don't care for what pc offers. Which is why(to me) consoles offer the better gaming experience.

Pc has the best online gaming for free with servers that stay up unlike console that turn off when new games come out.

All this plus graphics/sound/kbam/gamepads and your not stuck with the same tech for 7 or 8 years. While consoles struggle to do 1080p 60fps pc is moving to 4k. You want to know what the next gen consoles will be just game on a high end pc today. It goes without saying that pc only does everything also. That bullshit xflop TV service is free on pc and you can use h.265 or vp9 right now. The list goes on and on.

On pc you decide what you want not some megacorp. Like MS or Sony turning off mp3 support so you can buy their music services for example. Consolites wake up the choice is clear more than ever PC is where its at. Sure I bought a ps4 for future exclusives but that is about it. Everything else I could ever want or need is on the mighty pc. Oh FYI games cost LESSSSSSS $AVES me money !!!

Impact on the industry? Well if you want to change the argument and run with this new one I don't think you will be able to make a very good rally because nothing in recent times has had a bigger impact on the industry than when PS2, wii and recently PS4 hit the market.

LMAO consolites need to add the ps2/GC/xbox/ps3/x360 up to get more exclusives and some of the games listed are not exclusives on console and/or can be played in 1080p or better using emulation with mods. If you count AA games yes it is better than all consoles combined. But if you including only AAA it can only beat one at a time.

AA are considered "great" both here and at MC, but some idiots don't count them.

I am pretty sure consolites left out AA games when they saw the pc list they shit their pants. It's simple really if you want games build a gaming pc peasants join the master race. Yet you buy a xflop and peasentstation 4 with less games SMFH ??

Then you spend 50 and 60 bucks just for online gaming. Then you spend 60 bucks on games and God knows how much on DLC and microtransactions lol for sub standard graphics and gameplay.

They will never be on an even playing field. PCs will always have more genres and more user-created content. It will always have more control options and exclusive games with more depth - and by extension, more replay value.
