SSX pre-order bonuses dissapear on the 13th. This means anyone who wants a special board for that certain character, you better pre-order soon.

I personally am sticking to Amazon for the money bonus, because it would seem the board is a lvl 6 out of 10 (assuming they have 10 lvls).

If Gamespot is going to be the more "harsh" reviewer that this forum wants to complain about I still don't see why this game won't still get AA. SSX is fun as hell. I had so much fun with Tricky. I thin kit's gonna end up being one of the most fun games of the year. Day one for me. jg4xchamp

I wish I knew if the bonus board was among the best you can get in the game, or if its just a nice mid grade board to start with. lvl 6 seems to be mid grade given that characters can reach 10 and I assume gear can as well.

Nice thread TC. SSX was an important game for me when i bought my launch day PS2.

what the hell? lol I just looked at it and it was not there! Then I go back and it is there :P. On the SSX site it says the promo is available from February 13th 2012 and is valid until February 13th 2012. Maybe they don't care though.

Just pre-ordered this from gamestop (ohes noes, gamestop, the den of evil). Very high hopes, SSX Tricky ranks in my top 5 games from last gen. This has been a long time coming.WithoutGraceXII

Though I dislike Gamestop :P, my main reason for not ordering there, is I don't like Eddie. Zoe is my favorite and Eddie would probably be among my least.

...Yeah I guess you missed Snowboard Kids and 1080 years and years ago. Then you missed SSX and all its successors last gen. And one of the highest rated games last gen, SSX3. so yeah, snowboard games are just now becoming cool :roll:

[spoiler] -Game has gone gold
-longest drop is "Serenity", lasts 6 minutes roughly if you trick it.
-no uber trick setup. everyone has same ubers except sig trick
-grind tricks are done with face buttons, square, triangle and circle. single tap or double tap to access them.
-there is an autocorrect based on the board rating. The better the boards you use, the less autocorrect you have.
-some tracks are more linear than others in regards to splitting off in different paths.
-10 is max level in the shipped game with room to grow later if devs decide to expand it. First roughly 4 levels are really fast. Then it slows down. Access to better gear is earned through higher levels.
-you cannot level up with your wallet meaning buying credit packs won't earn you new levels. you have to earn those yourself through playing.
-world tour starts in a lineup, explore and global events all drop out of the chopper
-2 tutorial levels. 1 is freefalling and that teaches you how to do air tricks. The other is a ground tutorial that teaches you how to do basic manuevers on the ground.
-ubertricks can be held
-Happiness from SSX 3 is somewhere in Alaska
-halfpipes (if you find one) WILL drop your flow if you stay in it too long.
-hitting flares get you a bit of boost as it's considered a trick and keeps your combo going.
-restarting to the top of a run takes about 3-4 seconds.
-online geotags are the circular orbs
-offline geotags are purple snowflakes and are just regular collectibles.
-there's a snowflake in the rockies worth 1,000,000 credits.
-when you collect a snowflake it's gone forever regardless of what character you used to pick it up.
-geotags have a max value and it has a 24hr countdown timer. The value drops over time. The dropper earns more the longer it sits or less the less it sits and vice versa for the person who picks it up.
-drops in world tour are unlocked from the start. Other drops have a relatively nominal drop cost to unlock.
-there MAY be hud-free riding in the future but you cannot turn it off at the moment.
-there's no latency online which is a trade off for no synchronous competition.
-an exclusive walkthrough of Global events is on the way. Merqury City exclusive. (posted)
-there's no manual invite system. But just by playing ridernet will automatically send global invites based on what events you're playing in.
-NO voice chat on PS3 as it relys on synchronous competition to work. technically no voice chat on 360 but you can use party chat as a workaround on 360.
-2 survival tracks per DD. There's a "warmup" track and the main event DD.
-the only ghost in global events is the person in the bracket ahead of you.
-silver xbox live gets all world tour and all of explore with ridernet. You have to have gold to play Global events.
-you cannot change the number of AI's or their difficulty.
-world tour takes roughly 12 hours to beat.
-world tour is not linear. You can choose which region to go to next.
-Zoe and DJ Atomika narrate the the World Tour mode.
-you just need bronze to advance in world tour.
-if you're acclimated to playing against changing AI, playing world tour is an option for single player play.
-alternate colors are preset for outfits. 256 suit combinations, all of which have glowing versions for a total of 512 outfits per character. There are several perks that can be attached to each outfit.
-there are max attribute points for gear so as you level up and get better gear the extra character attribute points will even out as you progress.
-no other franchise characters will appear in the game.
-Demo is out on 21st. 2 tutorials, 1 race, 1 trick. Ridernet enabled.
-Allegra is not in the game. Called out to Tunes from Merqury City.
-you cannot play as the pilots.
-Travis Rice is optional. You need a special code to get him to be named later.
-All new voices aside from DJ Atomika
-Atomika provides updates during world tour and narrates the end.
-audio options are as follows:
--pilot speech volume
--rider speech volume
--sfx volume
--music remix toggle
--super tricky off/loop/standard
--music volume
--personal music volume
-you cannot manually choose the pilots.
-ice axes and pulse goggles are automatically controlled.
-oxygen and wingsuits are manually controlled.
-gear will wear out over time are you're doing a run but resets to full strength if you restart or start a new run.
-you cannot die in a race or trick event. Health bar shows up if you have armor equipped though.
-loadout slots expand as you level up.
-you can mix and match on disc music and custom music but you cannot set single songs to single tracks.
-fireworks go off when you collect a snowflake but it's very low key.
-replays probably won't be patched in but if you don't push a button after you rewind it will replay what you just did at the expense of time or points.
-not all the facebook boards made it into the game for licensing reasons.
-no limited edition or collector's edition in north america.
-elite snowboards are just lvl6 boards. They only give you advantage for a while.
-elite board designs cannot be obtained without preordering.
-SSX shirts MAY be on sale in the future.
-no hard copy run of the character comics or other swag planned.
-no plans for physical soundtrack at the moment.
-10 early copies of SSX on xbox 360 being given out to the community. Gondee and Tunes from Merqury City named as recipients.
-you need to let go of the trick before you hit the ground to land a trick successfully and depending on the level trick it is determines how long you can hold it before bailing.
-badges will serve as in game stats but there's not an official "stats" window that keeps track of time played or anything of that nature.
-tutorials can be replayed.
-shockwave cannot be turned off.
-you don't have a 1 RUN ONLY option in custom global events.
-there are death animations.

there is an online pass but it does not restrict online play. All it does is keep you from earning credits for events won online. You can do and unlock everything in the game without a pass.

I call 8.5. Can't wait for this game, the series really went downhill quickly after SSX 3 which was amazing.

So are they saying there are (something like) 4 colors or something per suit, so there are actually like 64 suits, then 64 more for their glowing counterpart, totalling 128? And if you unlock a suit for Mac, is it unlocked for everyone else, just looks different on them? Or does everyone have their own suits? lol my head! :P

Only played Blur after that, but yeah it was much worse. This one looks like an 8.5 - 9 on GS and is going to be awesome! Glad to hear the stupid pre-order is not that good. Zoe FTW! :)

SO you are saying the actual look of Mac will never change, but the color or pattern of his hoodie and pants will? I thought I saw characters with different clothing on (I know I have) and with different attributes...lol I am still confused. Also if I unlock all the gear with Mac, does that unlock all the gear for everyone?

I know what you mean, though the "colors" can be different pattersn I believe, making them quite different. I dont know what is the right answer, but looking at Zoe in the beginning of this vid, and at the 50 second marker in the same vid, she looks quite different. Might just be the pattern thing I was saying.
