What's really funny is people keep forgetting that XB1 is still only in 13 countries and has already hit 5 million sold to retailers. Impressive. PS4 sales are a bit more impressive, but they are in over 40 countries now and Europe is pro Sony. We'll see hot things go when XB1 launches in China in July and the other 30 countries in Sept. Should be interesting.

It appears that things have been progressing pretty well for Sony. Back in November 2013, Sony announced that they managed to sell 1 million units in 24 hours. It was also later announced in February that Sony had sold 5.3 million units, and here we are a couple of months later where Sony announces that they have passed the 7 million units sold mark.
Now we know that there is a difference between units sold to consumers and units sold to retailers,so it should be noted that Sony mentions that the 7 million mark is sold to consumers, as opposed to retailers whose numbers are probably a little higher than that. While they are not the leader this month they are doing much better than the 36o and the PS3 at the start of that generation. The PS4 is just going bananas at the moment. The gen is far from over however.
e3 is right around the corner and we will see who does well during the holidays this year.
