The game quite frankly, looks great. Its a shame that it doesn't have quite the demand to call for a localization...bobcheeseball
That is Square fault though, they should more actively market it or just name it Final Fnatasy something

Well Nintendo did say they were going to try to get Japanese titles to NA, so maybe they can talk Square-Enix into releasing it here.

I doubt this would apply to Bravely Default considering Square is a publisher
Actually, Dragon Quest IX originally wasn't going to localised by Square Enix until Nintendo stepped in, published and marketed it. So there.

So we should also poke Nintendo forums for the game i guess
More hints of an upcoming release

The main reason I'm interested in Bravely Default is because of the acclaimed Steins Gate writer Naotaka Hayashi penning the script.

I think Hayashi is also behind character design as well but yeah pretty much the same reason.

You sure about that? The art style looks very different from Steins Gate. Either way, I'm not really sure if Hayashi did any artwork for either of them, although I do know he has worked as an animator on various anime before making his breakthrough as a writer.[QUOTE="whiskeystrike"][QUOTE="Jag85"]

I didn't mean visually, rather that he created the characters along with the script.
For me is just about everything
1. the world with the mapped 2D art looks stunning, it also zooms out and you can see the whole artwork to its fullest glory
2. the charatcers are lovely and remind of FF9 a lot
3. it has proper summons after years of crappy boring summons in FF12-13
4. job system and old school combat, always love me some turn based action
5. story and epic feeling
6. 70+ hours is confirmed, will probably take me a lot longer though since i search everything
7. overworld and 2D map, cant get better than that :)
8. 3D effect makes it look like a story book
I don't understand why they give us this FF crap instead of the good stuff. GIVE US THE GOOD STUFF SQUARE ENIX YOU TURDS!For me is just about everything

Square Enix's Yoichi Wada Is Stepping Down
http://kotaku.com/square-enixs-yoichi-wada-is-stepping-down-458811790
"Wada has stepped down and square has posted a massive loss for this fiscal year citing poor sales over seas as the reason for the loss"
Maybe now at last they get the memo that people are losing interest in them and start releasing the games we do care about like Bravely Default
---------Petition to bring Bravely Default in US/EU--------------

Wow, 1,700 people is something to be celebrated? A lot more people wanted a real Death Star.
dogfather76
It is more than 2600 now
and evidently they have influenced in a huge way, since Square has tweeted twice after the petition that they recognize the demand for the game and will do their best to bring it over
