The launch feature lets players stream multiplayer League Play games direct from their consoles to YouTube user channels and the Call of Duty Elite service. Webcam and audio commentary feeds can also be included in the stream, while Elite integration lets viewers see the player card of whoever's streaming, as well as additional data like class loadouts and career stats.

_______________

Black Ops 2 zombie mode is a whole game by itself

everything you want to know about zombie mode:

Zombie mode offers 3 types of modes into it:

  • Open World type mode
  • Classic mode the way everyone knows it
  • Grief Mode ( whole new mode with 8 players into the same map fighting zombies with perks )

Zombie Modes
Treyarch revealed three modes during its preview event, detailing them in a presentation at the end of a day of multiplayer hands-on. One mode will be instantly recognizable to fans of other Treyarch Call of Duty games.

    • 'Tranzit' adds scale to the original gametype, and acts as the primary mode for zombie players. Rather than be stuck in one location, players are free to explore a "big, giant, expansive world." Calling it "significantly bigger than anything [Treyarch has] ever created," Lamia promises players (playing solo or up to four-players co-op) can traverse on foot or via the bus featured in the zombies world premiere trailer above.

"Because it's open and because there are multiple locations in this world where you can play and where the infestation is, there's different strategies about how you can approach it," he adds. "It's a much bigger world with much more going on." Moving through the world in the bus has tactical advantages, such as speed; however, it isolates players and can become very difficult to escape from. Going it on foot "into the fog" which players can do by themselves or as part of the group also has its perks, but puts players in the middle of danger.

To aid in their survival, players can collection pieces of items from throughout the world, putting them together to create "buildables"; including weapons, tools and things to help open new areas of the world.

    • 'Survival' has the "more classic zombies vibe," where zombie aggressors attack the player within a single area from the "expansive" Tranzit world. From its description, things work relatively the same as they have in the past: hole up, fortify your location and venture out to grab bonuses scattered throughout the environment when you find the right moment.

Survival areas are "carved out" of the Tranzit world and customized by Treyarch to act much like dedicated maps. Though Lamia wouldn't give an exact number, he promised players will have access to "multiple areas" in Survival that are designed to be played as a standalone section (solo or as a 4-player co-op experience). These areas feature the same gameplay zombie fans are used to, including magic items and 'Pack-a-Punch' machines.

  • 'Grief' is a new mode, available for up to 8 players that takes the concept of Survival and adds a competitive twist. In this mode, two teams of four players are dropped within the zombie-infested Tranzit world and must outlive the opposing team.

"This is what I've called in the past '4z4,'" Lamia says, detailing a mode that breaks down to a simple descriptor of Humans vs. Humans vs. Zombies. "It's really humans versus zombies, because the zombies don't care what team you're on. They just want human flesh and brains."

In this mode, human players cannot kill each other; however, they can play with the world to put the opposing team in precarious situations hence the name 'Grief.' The last human team standing wins the match.

Standard elements like blocking passages seem to be on the docket to make the other team's life harder, but Lamia says there are "new mechanics exclusive to this mode" that players can employ to grief the other team with. When pressed for details, Lamia wouldn't budge on what those elements are.

Everything we know about zombies in Call of Duty Black Ops 2How the Multiplayer Engine Changes Things

In Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, the zombies mode has been built on the multiplayer engine. In the past, Treyarch has stated this decision allows the developer to do new things it was unable to do in previous iterations. But what does that mean?

  • Stat tracking: Zombie fans will now have "extensive stats" attached to their monster hunting sessions, much like multiplayer fans have in the competitive part of the game.
  • Leaderboards: Stat tracking transitions into leaderboards for each zombie mode and can be broken down in detailed ways, like ranking based on maps. As an example, Lamia says players could check rankings for Survival in one particular area. "That will have its own leaderboard," Lamia added, mentioning detailed breakdowns for the other modes as well. "A lot more leaderboards, a lot more stats."
  • Improved Matchmaking: Using the multiplayer system, the game will attempt to match players faster than it has in the past. Because stats are tracked, Lamia says, Treyarch "will do [its] best" to match players with similar skill in the zombies mode. Of course, players can jump in and play with friends or anyone of varied skill levels if they choose.
  • Custom Games: "Now we're going to let you create custom games of the modes I just talked about," Lamia says. Creating a custom zombie game, players can make a series of decisions including setting a starting round (with players given points at the beginning of the match that are relative to the round choice, so players can purchase weapons and items to help them survive), you can set challenges like 'Headshots Only' at the beginning of the match or at specific rounds, turn magic items off (no perk machines, no 'Pack-a-Punch,' no mystery boxes). Lamia says there will be a laundry list of tweaks players can make.

Zombie Basics
A few additional details we were able to squeeze out of Treyarch regarding Zombies.

  • The mode features four new playable characters, including a female survivor teased in promotional art for the game.
  • Because the mode has no established narrative, Treyarch won't tell us what era the they envision the survivors living in. The single-player mode in Black Ops 2 shifts between the 1980s and the year 2025, while multiplayer takes place exclusively in the near-future setting. While some weapons in the teaser trailer point to a future timeline, Lamia tells us that its date remains a mystery as it's part of the narrative "fans are creating for the mode."
  • Zombies only exists because of fan feedback. Treyarch loves the mode, but only continues to grow it because of fan demand.
  • There are more zombie types, including new "normal zombies" and new "special zombie" adversaries.
  • There's a lot revolving around the zombie gametype and all modes, really that Treyarch won't be revealing. The developer wants to keep some surprises for players when the game launches.
  • Lamia promises plenty of Easter Eggs hidden throughout the Tranzit environment.

Black Ops 2 Story mode?

Black Ops 2 story mode will offer:

  • Choices in story mode, the game may end in multiple ways depending on how you approch the choices
  • Spans decades
  • Tons of speacial missions

Multiplayer:

The changes to Call of Duty multiplayer in Black Ops 2 are evident right from the create-a-class screen. The new system, dubbed 'Pick 10,' allows players to select any combination of weapons, items, and perks for their loadout on a simple grid. Each selection is worth a single point, with a maximum of ten points allotted per loadout. But you can do anything you want with this system and you'll never be forced to bring something you don't care for. Want a second flashbang instead of a sidearm? That's cool. Spend your points the way you want to.

Aside from perks, Black Ops 2 offers a new system called Wildcards. Wildcards allow players to change their loadout defaults in certain ways. For example, you can select the wildcard to allow for two lethal grenades to be carried into battle. But selecting this wildcard uses a point and then adding a second lethal will use a point. Another wildcard called "Gunfighter" allows players to equip three attachments on their primary weapon. The "Perk Greed" wildcard can be used to take a second Perk from the selected three perk groups. It's a risk/reward system. It's like you're getting an advantage, but you have to pay for it. Use more points to dig deeper and get the items/abilities you want, but you'll end up bringing less equipment to the party.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II has made some significant changes to the series extremely popular multiplayer. The loadout system has been revised, killstreaks have undergone a major overhaul, and there are even more options in terms of customization and game modes. In fact, so much has changed that it can be tough to keep track of what developer, Treyarch, has been up to.

Black Ops 2 will feature an optional Texture install for the PlayStation 3, Treyarch explains this optional install was put in place due to fan demand, it is there just incase a slow down happens.

When we explained to PS3 folks that installing to the HDD wouldn't neccessarily [sic] give us any significant performance gains, they explained back that the issue is they play so much it puts constant stress on the Blu-ray drive and wears them out."

Multiplayer Features: http://www.gamesradar.com/call-duty-black-ops-ii-multiplayer-everything-you-need-know-about-playing-online/

The Pick 10 loadout system brings more individuality to customization

Now that the loadout system relies on points instead of filling equipment slots, the feature opens up a whole new world of personal customization. Dont like carrying a secondary weapon? Well, dont. Toss it out and use that point for an extra lethal grenade, or attachment. Heck, you arent even required to carry a primary weapon anymore. Instead you can load up on Wild Cards and perks, grab the first dropped rifle you find in-game, and own the opposition as a souped up soldier.

The game modes give more options for every skill level

The game modes break up into four sections, each catering to different preferences. Core contains the standard match types like: team deathmatch, demolition, search and destroy, capture-the-flag, and the new Hardpoint mode. Party Games holds the old wager match game types from the first Black Ops, like One in the Chamber, Gun Game, Sharpshooter, and Sticks and Stones. Combat Training lets beginners ease into multiplayer by mixing other newbies with bots and have them compete in the standard matches. Then there are custom matches.

Custom games are more customizable

The custom games options are more robust in Black Ops 2. Players will be able to edit a variety of options in every game type and change the rules of the matches. You can build your own default custom classes that everyone in the game are required to use. You can restrict which items are allowed to be selected for loadouts. Bots can be dropped into a game, and you can even modify the Pick 10 loadout system by inflating the number of loadout points available to a maximum of seventeen or dropping it down to three total points.

Hardpoint matches bring king-of-the-hill to multiplayer

Black Ops 2s new multiplayer mode, Hardpoint, is similar to the previous titles Headquarters mode. All players on two teams converge on one small location of the map. Small rooms, or portions of the map will be highlighted, to which players standing within the limits of the hardpoint will score points for the team.

Challenges reward those who branch out

Challenges are back to help encourage players to stray away from their typical routine and try something a little bit different. This time, in Black Ops II, when you complete a challenge (or set of challenges) you could earn not only some bonus experience toward your next multiplayer level, but a new visual customization option for your character.

gamesradar

Aesthetic character customization is more robust

Once you complete a few challenges, you can unlock visual options that can distinguish yourself from the rest of the Black Ops 2 online community. Playercards will be editable, complete with a 32 layer emblem editor and more than 150 unlockable backgrounds.

Weapons can also get new looks, including various reticle designs and camouflages. Some of them even stretch beyond military designs. For instance, gold colored camos will be making a return, and one reticle is nicknamed The Steve, and is in the shape of a handlebar mustache.

Everything can be recorded and shared

For those who want to go all out and make detailed multiplayer videos have more editing options in Black Ops 2s Theater mode. Some of the new features include: the ability to bookmark significant moments in-game, a dolly camera that can be attached to objects like Score Streak vehicles and rockets, recent victories are easier to find, and community functionality--like up/down voting--has been added.

Also, those who dont want to spend their time editing video can use the Highlight Reel feature. Just switch it on, and it will automatically create an edited film with your best accomplishments from a match.

You can make your own commentary

Any saved match can be viewed and commented on using Blops 2s shoutcasting feature, Codcasting. This allows a spectator to view the match through a unique interface with access to picture-in-picture mode, scoreboards, player perspectives, and map overviews.

Another way to use the Codcasting feature is to go back and analyze more experienced players strategies, or see what mistakes you made and how to improve from your recent matches.

Prestige doesnt mean youre starting over anymore

Prestige is being handled a bit differently in Blops 2. Setting back your multiplayer level will no longer completely reset everything youve accomplishedweapon experience and challenge progress will not disappear. Also, each time you Prestige, you will receive a reward in the form of a permanent unlock, which is spent with a Prestige token, and a choice between unlocking an extra create-a-class slot, the ability to completely reset your stats, and refunding your unlock tokens (essentially respeccing, for you RPG buffs).

The classic weapons have futuristic modifications

With the futuristic setting comes a new spin on some of the weapon-types from previous games. Some weapons have gotten new features that make them more versatile on the battlefield. For instance, Black Ops 2s Assault Shield is a step up from the previous games riot shield, and has the ability to be planted on the ground and used as stationary cover. Theres a pistol that shoots shotgun shells, and AK-47-like AN-94 fires its first two shots at a higher rate during a full-auto burst--a feature that will likely be exploited by high tier players.

Attachments and perks discourage undesired play-styles

Much of Black Ops 2s balancing comes in the this-beats-that functions in the Perks and Attachments. Undesired strategies, like camping, are easily countered with the Millimeter Wave Scanner attachment, which detects stationary targets through walls. Even the Perks have been adjusted to discourage sitting still. The Ghost perk renders players invisible to the radar, only as long as the player is moving.

New, futuristic Score Streaks change the game

While some of the Score Streak bonuses play the same role as their counterparts in previous games, there are some game changers that may alter players strategies for certain game modes. The heat wave emitting Guardian turret is one of these. Its excellent for corralling enemies into a bottleneck of deadly fire, or for standing guard at a capture point. There are also a bunch of remote controlled and unmanned drones that let you take out opponents from new perspectives, like the flying dragonfire quadrotor drone and the ground based A.G.R. It will be interesting to see how the COD community will use these new items and equipment when the game launches.

Multi-team matches intensify the action

Black Ops 2 allows up to six smaller teams to compete against one another in the team deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, and Hardpoint game-types. Rather than having a two-sided engagement (where the direction of enemy attacks is relatively predictable) there are multiple teams, which means enemies attack from every direction. Communication and teamwork becomes much more important than it already was in Blops.

The Wii Us GamePad allows for an extra screen in local play

Say goodbye to screen looking and crowded screen space when you want to get in a few games of couch co-op and local multiplayer. The Wii U version of Black Ops 2 will allow players to use the GamePad controller screen as an additional screen. So, one player can look at the TV, and the other can play off the GamePad

Cack of Poody Brown plops poo

seriously, it'll be a good game for fans of COD, they never really go wrong if, everything is always looking nice and IMO works well online.

they have made some changes this time, so lets see how those turn out.

I'll probably get it after christmas and have a go. I'll definitely enjoy halo more though, its deeper and harder to succeed. also shooting aliens hasn't got old, whilst shooting men in camouflage pants definitely has for me.

not gonna bash it, cause i have 1000/1000 on COD 4 and enjoyed MW3 a great deal.

I hope you enjoy it, good luck.

Nope.. i hate admitting it but i got to say IW ( which i used to like before as devs ) they arent as big as they used to anymore..they have done nothing big with MW3 to be honest and they had 2 years to develope MW3.. all they did was introduce survival and theater mode while look at what treyarch is doing, they have so much into their new game new theater mode, new training mode, zombies completly changed, story mode into the future, lots of changes to the online and so on its just crazy heck they even took the time to make an optional install for the PS3 just incase it slows down :/ .. just incase.. game will be a blast.

#38 Posted by JohnnyCageMK (4340 posts) -
After the trainwreck MW3 I might skip this altogether. I'm sure zombies will be fun with friends but MW3 was the biggest piece of crap I've ever played and thats by COD's already low standards. COD competitive got boring years ago. Halo 4 will destroy it. It will still score AA here tho.

Nope.. i hate admitting it but i got to say IW ( which i used to like before as devs ) they arent as big as they used to anymore..they have done nothing big with MW3 to be honest and they had 2 years to develope MW3.. all they did was introduce survival and theater mode while look at what treyarch is doing, they have so much into their new game new theater mode, new training mode, zombies completly changed, story mode into the future, lots of changes to the online and so on its just crazy heck they even took the time to make an optional install for the PS3 just incase it slows down :/ .. just incase.. game will be a blast.

Well ofcourse, activision ruined them, Cod 4 and modern wafare 2 will remain the best cod games ever, black ops ruined cod for me and everyone i know, and modern warfare 3 sucked even more, it's going down

on the contrary, i love COD4, hated WaW, Blops and MW2. MW3 was the best COD since 4. i haven't truly enjoyed a single treyarch COD ever.

I hate Call of Duty and have no interest in the new one, but I still click on and post in every COD thread ever. It's not enough I hate COD. People have to know I hate COD! Am I cool yet?

I've pre ordered this game--first COD game I've ever bought, but Black Ops 2 will be fcking child's play compared to Halo 4.
