With the ps3 and 360 having pricecuts and the ps3 more so than most. Compare the current new prices of each console and what you get for the price. Is the Wii hardware still worth the $250? Shouldit get a pricecut? maybe down to $180-$200.

DISCUSS.

I'm sure Microsoft and Sony want to sell their consoles at a loss.

I really think they should cut to $200, but you're right , Sony cut the price because he wasn't sale the console very well, and if Nintendo keep the good sales, i don't see a price cut very soon.

With the new price of the PS3, a BLU-RAY player, an HDMI Output, a Hard Drive, and a CPU, GPU, andRamthat totally destroyes the WII... No, the Wii is not worth $250.

When comparingall the feature and power of the console vs what the 360 and PS3 has to offer, the Wii should cost way below $150, and that is still with taking into consideration shipment costs and employees salary in the factories.

It was never worth $250. Seriously people I don't get why none of you can see or acknowledge what a terrible rip-off it is. It's prettymuch a repackaged Gamecube selling for $250. Gamecube launched at $199 6 YEARS AGO and dropped to $99 in 2003. The Wii is worth $150 retail at most. That would still make Nintendo big money and they'd be giving good value, something they don't give a damned about. They could've easily designed a no loss $250 system with 720p near 360 visuals just like they did with $199 Gamecube to Xbox. The Wii is a massive rip-off at $250, period. They're not gonna drop the price though because all you fools just give them your money.

Ideally the Wii should cost $150 (i paid $300 for mine) but as long as it keeps selling the way it's selling there's no reason in the universe for the price to go down.

yeah i think a price cut right before christmas would be a smart move for Wii to keep it ahead of the 360 and the PS3.

$275 360 vs a $250 Wii might give 360 the lead in console sales going in to next year.

for only $25 more you get a truely next gen console with HD and you get HDMI and HD AV componets, get the wireless controller instead of the wired one, 256MB memory card which is more than you need just for a casual gamer who just needs enough space to save games + a little extra, and it comes with 5 free XBL arcade games. i know you get a ethernet cable too but dont know if you get a head set.

way better deal than wii and wii sports.

Its not the same, but the fact that it is still the same architecture as the 2001 Gamecube, upgrading it a bit for a 2006 console really doesn't cost a lot of money when it comes to research and development. As for producing it, since its close to a gamecube, the price stays nearly the same. The only thing that would justified it being more expensive than a gamecube is the Wiimote, and the software development. Still, $250 is way overpriced.

Yes, it is still worth $250. The demand is still staggering; people are paying even more than $250 on Ebay. And with exclusives like Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Brothers coming around the corner, the Wii is in a golden age.

Nintendo would probably sell out their Wii stocks if the console was $299. There is a large amount of demand for all things Wii right now.

People are not buying the Wii for the hardware - they're buying it intangible reasons.

We all know the Ninty is make a profit at launch already. Almost a year after the launch, Ninty is now making a bigger profit than last year. I expect the revenue reports to show it. Ninty's got the money and the money to have apricecut. However, are they willing to is a another question. Seems like business as usual for Ninty. I don't see how they have expanded gaming. THey may have expanding one section of their consumers but has really nelgated the hardcore or gamers. These 2 groups are the onese that buys the majority of games per year. Casuals buy 1-2 every 6 months or so.

I will wait for the Wii to drop to $180 and a few more games that really take advantage of their wiimote. Without the wiimote, the Wii is just lastgen, IMO.

The Wii is a great value for $250.

People who are saying it should be $150 or less are fools. The PS2 still costs $130. Are you trying to tell me it's not worth any more than the PS2? Please.

There is a big difference. The other two systems needed a price drop to sell more units. Wii doesnt have that problem at its current price.

The market speaks for its self. MS cut the price and released the best selling game 360 will ever have and it only managed to sell a little more than Wii that month.

Obviously its worth what it is selling for.

It would be a rip off if the other consoles also provided the exact same experience as the Wii can provide in terms of motion, but they don't. The Wii is offering a completely different experience than the other two and people are buying it for that reason, not for graphics.

The Wii isn't even worth $179.99; I personally think the price that best suits it is around $119.99 or $139.99

It doesn't need a price cut if it is selling out, but I do feel it is a console that should have entered the market at $200.

Well it will probably continue to sell at $250, but no, I really think that even with it's motion sensor technology it's really worth $250. Maybe $200 at most, but at $250 for last gen graphics and oversimplified games, I don't think it's worth it. We'll have to wait and see exactly how the new 360 arcade and 40 gig ps3 sell and affect wii sales before we can speculate as to an actual price drop though.
