time to see my nice new 970 gtx be completely outclassed at a similar price point -_-; heh damn technology.
oh yip i am deciding between a gpu and a next gen console so it will be interesting to see if they can convince me to go with a gpu.
Thanks for the heads up TC
gtx 960 announcement please
Its coming at 199$. Mark my words.
I hope so. But i'm more curious about performance.
I may be wrong, but i believe the x60 variants usually fall behind the x70 cards from previous gens. If the 960 isn't capable of atleast matching the 770, i'll be disappointed and probably just go for a 970 at the end of the year.
Poor hermits another upgrade inc
Because having the luxury to drop more money on more powerful hardware is a bad thing why?
Sure if that is your thing go ahead, buy latest hardware today, tomorrow it is already old
So what?
Thanks for the heads up TC

Rumours are pointing to the 960 using a cut down version of GM200 core.

ofcourse tomowrrow it's old. But it's also used for higher resolutions, better frame rates, etc.. Upgrading yearly is for gamers who want to be on the cutting edge, who want the best tehy can get, ofr the proper price.
Using console arguments is weak, mainly because it takes less than 550 euros/dollaers to match a ps4.

Why? Do my 2 GTX 970's start performing worse all of a sudden the moment new cards are announced?
Gaming at 6000x1080 maxed out with most games locked at 60fps......yes,yes......poor poor hermit me :P
Wow system wars is in Hyper Derp mode tonight. :D

No but i had been pissed if i bought gtx 970 and like a month later gtx 970Ti come out and with around same price
I bought them 3 months ago and no better card came out a month later at the same price....so? ;)
Its hard to be pissed when you are running 3 x full HD with AA at max settings with a locked solid framerate......what have i got to be pissed about exactly? that technology advances? that it becomes more affordable? that the next time i upgrade it will be way more amazing than it is now?
I just don't see your reasoning it has been like this for decades,we are used to it,just be smart about what you buy and when you buy it then there is no reason to be pissed.I can understand it getting to someone who only buys a console every 5-8 years, but i personally love the freedom of deciding when i want to take that generational leap, rapid advancement is a trade off i am happy to accept :)
Interesting:
"Because Maxwell is so efficient, it can run things at unprecedented level. Last year, when next-gen game consoles were released, they consumed 100 watts when running Unreal Engine’s Elemental demo. Now we can do it on x1 at 10 watts. The demo shows a waterfall of dripping fire, with a creature who looks like he consumed a volcano, which is flashing from many orifices."

Vita is kill.
Man, Sony and MS really scrimped on their consoles this time around, didn't they?
Not Nintendo though, that Wii U is a beast!
?
The Wii U is a generation behind in hardware and not even comparable. Bringing it up in a discussion would be as meaningful as bringing up the PSP or the Dreamcast.
It's the PS4/XB1/PC bracket that developers target, not PS4/XB1/PC/Wii U.
If you weren't always so eager to jump the gun and try to own and/or troll someone, and just thought about what the other user had posted, and why they had posted that, you might save yourself a lot of trouble.

Sure, but I doubt this generation will last as long like the PS3/360. I'm expecting new consoles in 5-6 years instead of 8.

...and if you weren't so eager to defend Nintendo at every opportunity, you would have realized it was a joke. Calm down.

You say that yet the PS4 and X1 still stomp this chip by a fair margin.
No doubt, but this chip will be used inside of portable tablets or other mobile gaming devices. Overall, it offers some very impressive performance for that form factor. When and/or how it will be implemented is a different story. There is still more to come from CES, so maybe we'll find out more in the coming days.

So the WiiU is only in the same generation as PS4/X1 when it conveys Nintendo fans. Sorry, but if its in the same generation it must be treated equal. Is hypocritical to bash PS4/X1 power and leaving WiiU unmentioned if they're part of the same generation.
