Nintendo's E3 to only be 30 minutes long

If I remember correctly, last year it was the same thing. Did they not have one "main" video, and then loaded out a bunch of smaller ones? They're probably going to get straight to business, as Iwata is not going to host--I didn't read the link does it say worldwide or just japan? Because perhaps the US stream will have extended reggie.

Also, it isn't as if the traditional shows are much longer than that. It is typically sony/ms talking bs numbers, ads, and then extended COD demos as everybody in the auditorium falls asleep.

Um, that's for the "Digital Event", whatever that is, I imagine if Nintendo is attending it'll be more than a simple digital event, Nintendo Direct videos are longer for Heaven's sake. If anybody truly deserves to be called sheep it's the Nintendo haters.

• 15 minutes of mintages and games no one gives a f*** about
• 1 minute teaser trailer for Zelda U

While it may have become a trend to hate on Nintendo... But in all honest the Wii for core gamers was a bit of a joke and the Wii U barely breaking through the power of last generation consoles isn't helping them at all especially when you take into account that multiplatform as what the majority of gamers play.

Not to mention that Nintendo pretty much alienated its fans last couple of E3's... The Wii U announcement was fail and the Wii U reveal was shocking for a core gamer.

I had a GameCube and it was my favourite console of that generation and I was hyped by the hype of the Revolution... Until E3 and the Wii was revealed along with its "next gen" games.

Its Nintendo's fault... Not saying they don't make great games, they do BUT they have dug there own grave.

If publishers were to only show the games and skip all the sales numbers and little speeches, their presentations would probably boil down to 30 minutes. Content is key, so hopefully Nintendo makes their half hour worth a damn. I'm not expecting much. Maybe they'll surprise me. Who knows.

As long as they give a stone solid release date for Monolith's X, Bayonetta 2 (plus some new footage) and announce Zelda WiiU alongside a trailer, i couldn't care less even if it where 10 minutes.

But that will never happen, my destiny is to always be disappointed at Nintendo's E3.

What they should do is just have an introduction then let trailer after trailer play and show off a bunch of great stuff. Sadly that won't happen because there will be a load of crappy over rehearsed filler talk in between

Well, I agree with you but I'm mainly pointing out that I don't think Nintendo's current E3 presentation will be underwhelming, at least in presentation time. Substantively it might be underwhelming (just depends on what they show or announce) but I think Nintendo at least has the good sense to by now realize that they have to firebomb the current E3 with anything and everything they have.

I'm also hearing this is a mistake and could just be a placeholder. It better fucking be one. A thirty minute conference? That's a joke.

I really believed this would be the year they would kill it with their E3 showing. This pretty much confirms that aint going to happen.

30 minutes is plenty of time for them to announce a price drop for the Wii-U and show off footage of Zelda-U.

Apparently the timeslot is just Niconico rounding to the half hour like they did with other nintendo directs.

Considering there won't be any live demos and no developers going on stage saying "you can play the DLC first on this system" sounds about right.

Honestly I hope Smash isn't at all mentioned at the Event because they're going to be showing that off a lot at the tournament. Or at least mention it briefly, but I hope they don't dwell on it till then.

30 minutes is now a failure? If you cut out all of Sony and Microsoft's bullshit sales talk and philosophy chatter, their actual gameplay would be less than an hour.

By the way, they just recently threw out fifteen eShop trailers. If I had to guess, they are probably cutting the fat while they are (obviously) saving the big stuff for the show.
