Nintendo or SONY : Which one is the better 1st party developer?

the Marios, Zeldas, Metroids, Pokemon, Pikmin, Animal Crossing, Kirby, etc..

or

The Uncharted, GoW, Infamous, Gran Tursimo, Last of us, Killzone, LittleBigPlanet, SOCOM, etc...

If you had to choose, which one, in your personal opinion, happens to offer you the more appealing 1st party exclusives that are geared towards your taste?

Nintendo are good but sony are better.

There are hardly any nintendo exclusives that appeal to people aged 18+

this is easy just look at what sonys launched in 2012 vs nintendo wii -which was said to be a dead console ,and wii u which just came out

and over all nintendo also still released alot more good titles then sony most of sonys were average at best example gt prolouge motorstorm killzone 3 , socom 4 this doesnt even include lair and other bad exclusives sony got over the years

nor does it include any other wii exclusive provided by 3rd party as well ,

so the clear winner is nintendo on any given day i would say nintendo over sony , because when they deliver they deliver a punch

My own personal taste dictates Sony the winner, but I still love Nintendo games. I buy and play almost all of their first party franchises.

Sony doesn't really stick with their franchises. It's questionable if we'll even see Uncharted, God of War, or Infamous on the PS4. With Nintendo we know we're going to get a 3D Mario, Zelda, and Smash Bros, plus they space out their sequels much better.

Zelda Twilight Princess came out in 2006... Skyward Sword 2011

Mario Galaxy came out in 2007... Galaxy 2 came out in 2010

Metroid Prime 2 came out in 2004... Metroid Prime 3 came out in 2007

Smash Melee came out in 2001... Smash Brawl came out in 2008

Donkey Kong 64 came out in 1999... Country Returns came out in 2010

etc.

Uncharted came out in 2007... Uncharted 2 came out in 2009... Uncharted 3 came out in 2011

God of War came out in 2005... God of War 2 came out in 2007... God of War 3 came out in 2010... God of War Ascension will come out in 2013

Ratchet and Clank ToD came out in 2007... ACiT came out in 2009... A4O came out in 2011... FFA came out in 2012

Infamous and KillZone 2 came out in 2009... Infamous 2 and KillZone 3 came out in 2011

You can't really compare the two devs because they make games for totally different audiences. I'd say for their target audiences they are equal in ability, but I doubt Nintendo could make games as breathtaking visually as Sony's 1st Party Devs even with the Wii U's extra horsepower.

Also note that the first two PlayStations mostly succeeded because of 3rd party games. (and heavy advertising)

Sony doesn't have a stable franchise like Mario, Zelda, or Smash. Even back in the PS1 days they released sequel after sequel. Crash 1, 2, and 3... Spyro 1, 2, and 3... etc. You need to space them out. Mario 64, Mario Sunshine, Mario Galaxy.

Just going off of visual parity does not equal your whole experience. Ninty knows how to make games flow more naturally and are just plain easy fun without any hassles. Some games imo are missing this aspect.

Not saying Sony has this issue a lot but I feel their natural gameplay is lacking more than ninty first parties imo.

Nintendo. Outside of this gen it's not even debateable. The first two PS were so appealing to me because of the crazy amount of third party support and an abundance of quality JRPGs. Not so much this gen. Nintendo systems are for nintendo games

Some of Nintendo's first party games actually appeal to me.

Outside of Planetside 2, can't say the same thing for Sony. That said, they do make quality games, just not ones that appeal to me. Both Uncharted and InFamous have left me with a terrible taste in my mouth whose foul taste remains today.

Personally for me Nintendo frist party are better, even though I own 100+ PS3 games but I can't even remember the last frist party Sony game I bought probably Killzone 2 or Uncharted 2 back in 2009 but even those I didn't particular like.

Personally I prefer Sony's.

And btw, i think you meant which one HAS better 1st party developer, 'cus Sony didn't develop most of those exclusives, it's their 1st party developers.
