Sonic

  • Sonic Lost World (Wii U) — €29.99 / £23.99, regular price is €49.99 / £39.99
  • Sonic Lost World (3DS) — €23.99 / £20.99, regular price is €39.99 / £34.99

It's not the best sale in the world (the prices are nothing on the prices that PSN has so regularly), but it's nice to see Nintendo embracing the concept of sales for the eShop more and more.

Right now it's only for Europe, but if they bring it over to North America, I might pick up Kirby and Fire Emblem.

If it comes to NA I will get all the Kirby games. And maybe Sonic Lost World for Wii U because I'm morbidly curious.

Lost World is okay. The Wii U one especially. I mean, it's not great, and certainly not even on par with Colors or Generations, but it's an okay game for what it is.

lolsteam--oh wait, wrong thread. My bad.

Will the US be seeing a similar sale you think? Not that I absolutely have to take advantage of this sale or anything, doesn't appear too great, but just curious.

I'm glad Nintendo is trying but those prices still really high for those retail games. I would have better luck at retail and waiting, not that I don't own some of those as I do. Some of those are launch games and they have the MSRP of 2012 prices. I mean if you have waited since 2012 to own some of these games, you already passed better deals than this Nintendo offer. I've seen Super Mario Wii U on sale a few times at retail since 2012 (as of this post August 2014). Same for New Super Mario 2 on 3DS that was on sale quite a few times, it was a physical copy, and this pricing isn't that great for a summer 2012 title, two years ago. I own those anyways, but it was worth noting to those that waited all this time to pick up what I consider some fun games.

As far as the DD games above, probably the best prices we are going to from Nintendo for awhile, so it may not be so bad since it's Nintendo pricing (no retail competition).

I was in the PSN Sales! thread that went up today too looking at $10 Retail games (Bioshock Infinite, Sly Collection, Metro Last Light, XCom, DmC, etc) going on sale next week in the US for PS3/Vita and I thought those $10 PSN prices were a bit high, but somewhat decent. That was for $10 for retail DD games on sale on PSN, so you can imagine what I think of these much, much higher Nintendo DD retail prices.

Also the tiny 32GB internal memory of space on the Wii U I don't want to waste with games I could own physical. This gen is still fairly new and I know space is premium on the WIi U.

Still, hopefully Nintendo takes a peak at the competitors and continues to try.

Not on par with Colors? Okay, now I'm definitely curious.

Nintendo has rotating deals on the North American eShop, sometimes they have really good games on there. But I only download the smaller games, the Deluxe HDD isn't very big for bigger premium retail titles.
