Nintendo Announces Advance Wars 3DS, Out Later This Year

Nintendo has announced that Intelligent Systems is working on a new Advance Wars games for the Nintendo 3DS. The as of yet unnamed title is due out later this year in North America and Europe. No release was confirmed for Japan.

It is also unknown whether the game will follow in the darker footsteps of its immediate predecessor, Advance Wars Day of Ruin, or the first three games in the series.

Regardless, after Intelligent System's groundbreaking success with the critically acclaimed Fire Emblem Awakening on the 3DS, this one will be worth keeping an eye on. Stay tuned to IGN for more.

Damn this was disappointing! I've always liked the AW series a lot more than FE. Multiplayer is awesome and there's a lot more variety in the strategy.

Nintendo gave Days of Ruin as a Japanese Club Nintendo award last summer so hopefully that means a new game is coming soon.

I'm not sure if it's Miyamoto messing them up like he did with Paper Mario 3DS (allegedly), but whatever affected Intelligent Systems to make Awakening so gimped, I hope it doesn't affect them with whatever their next title is, actual Advance Wars 3DS or not.

They all but announced they are working on Advance Wars. Intelligent Systems said they want to make a new Advance Wars and Nintendo is building them a larger HQ.

Ew I loved the first one (only one I played). I look forward to this one.
