An upcoming peripheral by Nyko allows the PS4 to use pretty much any hard drive. Where the hell this was several months ago when I shelled out for a 1TB, don't ask me.

This kind of thing is pretty much going to be nessessary as the gen goes on, since HDD tech seems unwilling/unable to keep up with the demands of current gen console gaming/the hoetery of having to install everything. I might just get it over with and load up the largest HDD I can find when I have some extra cash.

You find me a 3TB or larger HDD that will fit the factory PS4, I am more than game.

With that your PS4 will be as tall as a X1, well half of it anyways!

assuming it's not too long, that's not really a purchase page. Not a thing I can get off amazon right now.

I remember when the PS3 had a firmware update and peripherals like this became unusable. I'll wait till the PS4 get an update so you could use external drives instead. The Xbox One is already doing that. Also does putting your own HDD inside the PS4, voids warranty?

Ugly as hell. I guess should be ok if you need like 6 TB of space.

Nah, PS4 allows hard drive swapping out of the box. They just aren't big enough to fit the more common 3.5" HDDs

Or you could make one of those yourself using a SATA extension cable, a 12v PSU, a SATA power lead, wire strippers, soldering iron, cardboard, sticky tape and scissors.

Will look real nice, an you can draw cats on the cardboard when you're finished...

My favorite consolite move this generation is people who spent $400 on a PS4 and then dropped a $500 SSD in it. SMH.
