Why u no 1080P xbox?
Because 720p is inside X1's blood. Why do you think we've been calling next gen xbone the Xbox 720 since 05?
I read it's because their ESRAM drivers aren't ready for prime time. Just as it took the PS3 several years to hit it's stride, I predict we'll see the quality of Xbox One games - including the game resolution - improve over the coming months and years.
It is a combination of ESRAM + weak GPU.
It wont take long, we saw last gen that multiplats were comparable in quality with only subtle differences. First party devs will continue to bring the goods because its always been that way.
Despite topic after topic on this and umpteen painfully dull tormentos posts the differences are not as black and white as forum dwellers will have you believe.
Yeah 100 lines of resolution from this gen was enough for sites like DF to call the xbox 360 version superior,and now all of a sudden doubling the xbox one resolution is nothing,..lol

Well I like to use my eyes and the fact that I have to stare at bullshots to notice a fraction of a difference in some folliage tells me that actually the difference is marginal at best. Its all relative and largely dependant on the size of your television and your distance from it.
Thankfully my eye side in great unlike yours,and unlike you i don't own a damn 5 inch screen so yeah the difference will be easy to see,even DF which was been incredible pro xbox lately ha to admit the difference was easy to see and that the xbox was under performing vs the PS4.
