Removed some of the games on the PS4 list that would easily run at 1080p60 on the X1 aswell. PS4 still has a substantial lead.

It does and the ease of the PS4 games reaching 1080p and more of them is pretty obvious. But the One will certainly achieve more 1080p games going forward as the dev tools are better optimized.

I read it's because their ESRAM drivers aren't ready for prime time. Just as it took the PS3 several years to hit it's stride, I predict we'll see the quality of Xbox One games - including the game resolution - improve over the coming months and years.

It has nothing to do with the dev tools. The xbone GPU can't push 2.1 million pixels at 60fps. Games will get better assets buit the xb0ne will, for the most part, be a 720p box for the life of the console

Jesus, nearly everything on the ps4 is 1920x1080 except for bf4.

I think the order is also rendering at 1920x1080, but scaled to 800 for whatever reason, oh yeah a cinematic widescreen experience.

The fact is there is a massive difference between 1080 and 720. There is no downplaying that. And the xbox is shit for having a two year old entry level GPU that never could hit 1080p/60

Microsoft should have just dropped the XB1 price to $350; that would have ended A LOT of the debate around here and would have put the pressure back on Sony to deliver better-than-XB1 games.

Charging $500 for the XB1 is insulting. It puts the XB1 in the position of having to prove that it's worth more than the PS4 all the time. It never will be, based on the raw hardware specs, and this is going to hurt the XB1 for ALL of Next-Gen. Whenever MS announces a price-cut, the PS4 will respond and the XB1 will never be able to catch-up.

The difference is bigger this time around, compared to last gen. What do you think will happen later in the gen when game developers push the PS4 hardware even more, utilizing the extra compute power it has. We will see games later in the gen on the PS4 running closer to 720p to keep up the performance, while the X1 won't even be able to run those games.

I really dont care about resolutions bud, I play games to play games. The Xbox offers more features that I will use than the PS4 and so far many more games I want to play. I dont like PC gaming for anything other than total war and dont like the Wii U.

What you are seeing here is DDR3 vs GDDR5. There is a reason why the cheap GPUs on PC use DDR3, and the high-end GPUs use GDDR5.

As far as the ESRAM, I am hearing rumors that developers aren't even using it cause its a PITA.

I wonder if the PS4 - XBO gap will be the largest in gaming history? I mean, has the dominant console of any generation ever had such a huge graphical leap? 1080p is TWICE the resolution of 720p, and who knows maybe the XBO uses less Dx11 (esque) effects than PS4? Perhaps less AA? As far as I'm concerned all 4 consoles of the 5th gen were 480p, and PS3 and 360 were both 720p.

Plus, the GPU is far weaker, and 10% of the GPU's power is reserved for the OS and Kinect. Considering the high price tag, the XBox One should be far more powerful than it is...

It's good to see that a lot of games this generation will be 60fps. Framerate is much more important to gameplay than 720p+ resolution differences.

I don't care. Im going to play and have fun with games, even if my hdtv breaks and I have to play them on a standard def, black and white tv.
