Yep, that's right. A new Sniper Elite game is coming to PSVR. VR is a perfect medium for the sniper genre, so this makes perfect sense. The game takes place in World War II Italy, before the events of SE4. The campaign is entirely original. They changed up the perspective for VR, placing it wholly in first-person (the most immersive perspective for VR, by far). The game will support the Aim controller, Move controllers, and the Dualshock, though I would think the Aim will be the best obviously, considering holding it is like holding a rifle. Full, free motion, confirmed. Built from the ground up for VR. PSVR, and VR in general, just keeps getting better as more and more devs are hopping on the VR wagon. Every new big title confirms this.

Here's a video of the dev talking about their new game. No release date yet, but we'll see in depth gameplay videos soon.

Wow, that’s incredible news! I can’t wait to play this.

VR is alive and well and will continue to grow. The haters of VR continue to get owned as more and more devs keep making VR games.

Yep. When next gen rolls around we're going to be seeing an increase in first party VR development as a result.

Good choice of game for VR. With that said, until Sony releases the wireless option for their VR, I am not going to fork over for their addon.

Wireless is on the way. Sony has patented a wireless PSVR headset. They have yet to announce it officially, but that will come in time.

You informed me sometime ago. I am still waiting for the hardware of this patent. Probably be with the PS5, which I am fine with.

Surprised they didn't do this already.

But pretty underrated series.

Lol, my bad. I hardly remember half the sh_t I say to people on here. Anyway, if the battery is good in the upcoming hardware, I'm all over it.

USB C charging can help with potentially low battery life. The Quest is currently at 2 hours.

Yeah I know, I have a Quest. It sucks in terms of battery life. I have a Go, too. Sucks worse. And I HATE the idea of wearing an additional big battery on the back of my head. USB is cool, I suppose.

Oculus Quest is the only real VR right now for me. I am like Pedro I can't stand the wires and the setup. When or if Sony releases a wireless headset I will be all over it!

They are already releasing some great VR experiences for Quest and it is only getting better.

I have been getting almost 3 hours out of mine. Maybe I am not running stuff that is eating the battery so much.

Is it good?

@robert_sparkes: Well, the genre has been done. We do in fact already have a sniper game on PSVR, but it's a fairly low budget indie. Sniper Elite is a whole different ballgame. This is a high profile game, for sure.

They should punt over the zombie stuff as well, arguably more fun than the base game.

For the cost of that to be even $500 or less would be years after the PS5 is released.

The original campaign is a strong selling point I would say.

But I wouldn't get it on that alone, personally.

This game could maybe just use some work.

@raining51: The PSVR game is entirely original. Totally new game, built from the ground up for VR. It's a prequel.

EDIT: Oh wait, sorry. By original I thought you meant the campaign of the last SE game, ported. Never mind.

I like it a lot and the games that are out run and look fine. I love just picking it up and playing games. Don't have to mess with wires or a PC/PS4. Some people are already learning how to stream PCVR games to it with pretty good success but I have no desire for that. The portability is also a huge plus.

@Xabiss: The visuals are okay on the Quest, but they definitely don't beat PSVR/PS4 Pro combo.

I never said it did. The 6 DoF is what makes it and the tracking is better then what the PSVR has. Well that and the controllers are better.

I still find it fascinating what John Carmack was able to accomplish with the Quest. It is pretty amazing tech for what it is.

Well, I'm not saying it's a bad device. You're right about the quality. The tech is great, and the portability is unmatched. For cheaper VR, it's a solid purchase, as long as the software eventually shows up. I can definitely see tech like this expanding and getting better and better.

@Xabiss: Sounds awesome, the wireless aspect of it all is certainly appealing. That climbing game has me really intrigued! ? Perhaps next Black Friday...
