New Doom4 screens, yet another GFX KING on PC?

All gfx kings all happen to be on PC (either exclusive or multiplats on ULTRA), but will Doom4 secure yet another win on PC?

Doom and Doom II already perfected the single player shooter. It's over. This new game just looks like a shittier version of those. Sure, it's fast, but not quite as fast. Sure, there are enemies, but not quite as many. They've added janky, scripted looking melee takedowns that totally break the flow of the game and the level design is way too linear and simplistic. It doesn't have the stuff that make Doom so damn good.

So it beats anything on consoles in that case.

I guess if you want to brag about that. But on the list of "kings", i'm pretty sure corridor king would fall well below even jacket king.

Hope Doom 4 does not have trites or ticks, gives me the willies everyfvcking time i play Doom BFG edition:(

id haven't made a good game in a while. Not since RtCW multiplayer.

And I think that might have been done by Splash Damage. Or maybe that was the xpac....I forget.

So while it may or nay not be GFX king.....the game itself is going to suck.

Don't know about graphics king but art looks stunning. Too bad the gameplay feels consolized. It's a lot better than modern military shooters but Shadow Warrior 2 looks more fun gameplay wise. I expected the same from Doom, a fast paced approach like first two games. Still, looking forward to it though.

Doesn't really strike me as a graphic powerhouse, but they aren't bad I guess... Isn't Doom going to be on consoles too anyways?

Its a multi plat, SONY is still exclusive Graphics King still Star Citizen is released.

Crysis 3 and Unreal are playable. Double Rekt. Parts of SC is playable. Tripple REKT!

Looks really nice. Those pictures are kind of shitty though. Very small resolution on the website itself.

I don't think it'll be the best looking game out there, but it'll be up there.

I'm sure it'll look good, but those screens don't really show it.

Unreal and SC have playable stuff atm which is not multiplat but it looks better than The Blur.

Not sure its a graphics king or even a style king but it's Doom at least. Doom will not let us down.

Visually it's shaping up very nicely. But come now, who didn't expect this?

My concern falls in whether or not the gameplay will actually be up to snuff, and not filled with painfully predictable enemy encounters that hampered Doom 3.

I'm sure that the new Doom game will look great on a technical level, but I really miss stuff like the weird and nonsensical environments. But Doom 3 was all "generic futuristic military bases" and "generic sci-fi laboratories" and "generic looking Hell." It seems like the better the graphics got, the more the whole game just ended up looking like everything else out there. And these screenshots make it look like that trend is set to continue. Here I see a generic looking Hell scene, and two screenshots that look like any run-of-the-mill Aliens knockoff. Doom and Doom 2 looked UNIQUE. I want to see THAT get a modern technological upgrade. But using modern technology to just make more generic looking military bases and research facilities seems like kind of a waste in my opinion.

This engine better be better than ID tech 5's garbage ass was.

I'd be surprised to see anything beating Battlefront in 2016

Why bother distinguishing multiplats from exclusives when it comes to graphics? I mean I get it for plots and gameplay, but graphics? I mean the best looking games are on PC, doesn't matter that they aren't exclusive to PC... it just means they're on the PS4 as well yet get surpassed by the PC...

The art style looks horrid to me, it has that bad CGI movie look instead of aiming for realism.

In a corridor shooter you'd think they would do better.

When I think back of the old Doom and such, it was more of like "Dammit, when I picked up that power up and 10000 demons appeared around me, that WAS INTENSE!"...

...and not much of "yeah...the graphics was sweet...".

As long as the gfx serves its purpose, it'll be fine as long as the gameplay remain as fun.

Well since Doom 3 was the second best looking game the year it came out in 2004, and still among the top 5 even a year after its release (plus Doom 1 being graphically revolutionary) I have no doubt that Doom 4 will take a graphics king crown for at least a little while.

But those screens didn't impress me much tbh.
