My dying light review

With my system specs, I got 30 fps outside (steady though, vsynced) , Vsync off it hovers in the 40's. When looking in the distance and turning fast, goes 30'ish. Indoors easily steady 60 fps, but that's indoors.

I got everything on max besides the distance view slider, that's on default (50 percent ish). I'm playing on 1080p.

Looking at console hd videos, the view distance is a lot less and the overall quality as well. It seems like the texture resolution is lower. The performance seems to be fine on console and pc ( if you adjust your quality settings to your hardware of course) They didn't lie about the recommended settings though.

Apart from that, since there aren't many reviews out there yet...

I got it for the Xbox One, so far I really like it but I can definitely tell a good PC is going to get a lot better lighting/shadows and textures from this. As far as gameplay goes everyone had this nailed months ago, basically Dead Island and Mirror's Edge fucked and had a baby, it's Dying Light, hurray. Anyhow, still leveling up my skills, getting into the main story, probably have more to say on it myself later. I'd of played more but I got too medicated and passed out.

Still, as far as consoles go, or the Xbox One for that matter, it's performing better than I could have expected. I'm very satisfied that so far the game isn't a v-sync mess, though on a few occasions I noticed v-sync issues but they're too few and far between for me to have really cared.

@commander: LMAO you cant tell texture quality based off streamed videos.

Yeah sure, i can I can do it with other videos that stream in hd but not with these...

streaming is not what it was in the nineties. Today we stream bluerays lol. The settings were saying source and I have a high speed connection.

If people would follow your reasoning psn live wouldn't even be possible.

Did you finish the game or are you reviewing it based on a few hours of play time?

@commander: 1080p streaming is nowhere near the quality of uncompressed Blu-Ray. Even gamersyde videos which are high quality are still compressed.

Who says it was 1080p streaming, besides this is just an first impression, other users are backing me up, give it a rest.

@commander: No I just laugh at people who judge texture quality off compressed footage. Especially when those people backing you up are doing the same thing.

So you haven't finished the game yet?

sure he plays the xboxone version with glasses that compress the textures, go troll somewhere else
