Correct me if I'm wrong but no one has ever secured exclusive rights to advertise an AAA game. Of course both companies tried to treat certain games as if they were exclusive but there was no exclusivity in that. And exclusive DLC is also something else.
ummm...COD was advertised only for the xbox 360 for a very long time. please don't act like this is new.
@speedfog: wouldn't this make Microsoft the desperate ones? They did after all "make" a fragrance called destiny in order to attempt to advertise the game. Seems pretty desperate to me.

I wouldn't know because for me COD doesn't even exist. And even if it did, I wouldn't claim ownage by this very shallow criteria that more consoles from other brand would get sold because of this.

Who gives a **** if 'MS would do that too', the point is Sony wronged this time. Just like with Tomb Raider, it would be a different story on here if Sony made the deal.
Why get defensive, Sony made a prickish deal. And MS found a smart way out. And it would have been the same if it was a reverse situation. Then we'd be calling Sony smart.

Yeah but that didn't legally stop Sony from advertising madden. Its big business. Both sides are going to say they're worse, but both are just money grubbing corporations.
So, let me see if i got this straigh. Sony has a contract for exclusive advertising of the game, making it impossible for MS to promote Destiny and associate it with the xbox, so they made a "destiny fragrance" to bypass it?

So I guess mainstream console gaming has just become a war between who can push the most money into advertising campaigns rather than creating the highest quality games.
@Salt_The_Fries: ya if Microsoft was smart they would have offered a deal to make Bungie a subsidiary of the company, instead of spending millions to own the Halo IP which will, let's face it, eventually die out like all franchises do. Even Mario isn't as popular as he once was.
