How You Can Get a New Xbox One for $250

The new $50 off sale can be combined with a Microsoft Store promotion for a very nice deal.

Today's news that Microsoft will run a lengthy promotion that takes $50 off the price of the Xbox One brings the base cost down to $350. You can actually get one for $100 less than that from the Microsoft Store right now, provided you've got some old hardware to trade in.

The Microsoft Store is currently running a promotion (separate from the one announced today) that offers a $100 credit toward a new Xbox One when trading in a working Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3. It's not new, but combined with today's news that you'll soon be able to buy a One for $350, this means you're looking at spending only $250 for an Xbox One (without Kinect). Not a bad deal.

Even better than that is using the trade-in credit to get the Assassin's Creed bundle (which includes copies of Assassin's Creed Unity and Black Flag) or the Sunset Overdrive bundle (which includes the game and a white console and controller) for $250.

You don't need to rush in order to get these prices--the $50 off deal runs from November 2-January 3, and the $100 trade-in offer expires on December 31. That should give you time to finish up any games you might be in the middle of or to track down the cables for an old system--Microsoft is accepting more than just the most recent models of 360 and PS3.

Oh snap, I have an extra 360, my original 20 gig, I don't see an exception on that one so I may trade that one, bring my 250 gig to the boat next year and I'll be all set. I just may look into this further since after an X1 buy, I sure don't Need two 360's. :D

That's a real low price for compared to what the console cost one year ago. Most consoles don't drop that much nor that fast.

Im a day one buyer and Im delighted I got to play on launch day, and everyday since. Thats about 50 cents per day on top of this trade in price. You might think the wait is worth it, not I.

Hell no I wouldn't trade in my PS3 for any of the next gen consoles.

I am also a day one owner and have never regretted it. I've used my Xbox One quite literally every day since. When i'm not gaming on it i'm using it as an advanced piece of tech that streamlines my living room entertainment. Yes, i talk talk to my xbox/tv/blu ray player and love it

They are willing to do an5yhing to sell some xbones, anyway Xbone has developed quite a good library recently so it may be a worthwhile deal.

i'm not that kind of gamer that collects consoles or games. when the new systems come out i choose which i want, trade in my old one, and leave it at that. so this deal is perfect for me.

you're talking about the ps4...right? the Xbox One actually has exclusives, and more coming. while Sony has 3 installments of The Last of Us.

Just like Microsoft and the Xbox 360's first year where they were so desperate to put out PR bragging about '10 million sold' they flooded the retail channel with consoles that were piled in giant stacks that sat there unsold for months. Microsoft ended up with 2 million unsold Xbox 360s and only 8.5 million actually sold - compared to the PS3's 10.5 million sold. There were so many unsold Xbox 360s still sitting unsold in stores after Nov/Dec that Microsoft shipped no new Xbox 360s for the first three months of the following year.

If Microsoft was that desperate last gen with the PS3 being 200 dollars more expensive than the Xbox 360 they must be in absolute panic mode with the PS4 being only slightly more expensive than the Xbox One and getting destroyed in sales.

don't even bother. he's just bored of his ps4 because it has no good games.

I wondered this when bestbuy and gamestop were doing the same thing. The only thing I can think of is if there is some sort of mass recycle that that results in a tax write off. Or a donation to less fortunate countries that again results in a tax break. There is no way they make direct profit off of all the consoles.

Wow so now 500 dollars to 250 dollars, that sure is a good deal I must say but for it to take such a dive, this is definitely telling of Microsoft.. they want their consoles to sell that at Play Station's pace. Will it happen? So far the preorders for the bundles are looking really good on Amazon.
