Final Fantasy X ( Can never forget Tidus, Auron )

Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core ( How FF VII started and the real story, sacrifices behind it )

Shadow of the Colossus ( Wander's story is so tragic )

Nier ( Real Story of the enemies and protagonist which unlocks in NG + onwards )

Well, above three were very emotional games for me.

Wbu? :)

Life is Strange is an awesome emotional game I ran into. Also Mass Effect 3, Persona 4, Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core, Danganronpa Ultra Despair Girls, Final Fantasy X, Walking Dead season 1 and 2, Beyond 2 Souls and Last of Us.

Valiant Hearts, Child of Light and The Last of Us. The prologue of The Last of Us made me weep like a bitch.

Hi, just getting sentimental about Journey here.

In terms of contrasting emotion, The Walking Dead Season 2 got me very angry.

Ehhh, did you not manage to save your allies thehig1 ??? Its very easy to save 'everyone' lol, do every quests for allies's ( even Legions just after getting him ), maximize everyones paragon or renegade bar, fully upggrade your ship and lastly go to collector base just after your crew gets abducted to save. It was a joyous experience for me to save everyone HeHe

That Dragon, Cancer.

There isn't a single video game that comes close to being as personal a story as that game. I have barely choked up at a video game before, that game full on made my cry.

SOMA hit me pretty hard.

At the end of the game you're really engaged with Simon and Catherine's story. And you reflect on decisions you take in that game.

I'm a sucker for any story involving brothers or fathers and sons. So Brothers: a tale of two sons...damn that game got me in the last level. And combining gameplay with the emotional sucker punch...holy hell that was genius. A true marriage of gameplay mechanics/design/themes/story. The whole kit n kaboodle.

Games like The last of us...just made me feel nothing. Great score though...

Yes! And not just because of what happened but how the game pours the emotional involvement into the gameplay. I'm getting misty eyed just thinking about it. What a moment.

Persona 4. Incredible character development and great attention to detail and the music helped a lot.

Yakuza 3. Wanted to defend the orphans with my life. Loved the storyline of this game.

The last of us. No comment.

Nier. Where do I begin?

Xenoblade. Dunban, fiora, and major events were great. Sharla too.

How could I forget?

ICO and shadow of the colossus.

The bridge scene, and aggro cliff scene.

Okami

I can't think of a specific moment, it's all amazing. It's probably the best game I've ever played. I wanted that experience to last forever, it was so much fun. I've never felt that way about a game since. I probably never will now that I'm older and more cynical.

Surprisingly enough, Mass Effect 3.

In all fairness, between the story itself and the fact that it's the final part of the trilogy, it lends itself to emotional moments. But while the initial ending is a very weak send-off to the characters you rolled with for three games, the Citadel DLC makes up for this in spades. It is fan service to the extreme, but not in a way where it actively tarnishes its plot (ala MGS4). You have missions weaving between genuine intrigue and hilarity, followed by a party with your whole crew and a series of personal hangouts. It certainly gets cheesy on occasion, but it does such a fantastic job in showing the personalities of each of your crew members of the past and present.

It's really just a whole lot of fun all around. But what really encapsulates it is the final scene, and the dialogue exchange between Shepard and his/her love interest. It's simple, but it brings the trilogy to a properly poignant close:

"We've had a good ride."

"The best."
