(10)The game is said to include a new, original and non-linear[6] storyline "showcasing some of the game's oldest characters including Scorpion and Sub-Zero, while introducing new challengers that represent the forces of good and evil that tie the tale together."[7] It was announced the story would begin at the end of the previous game and then eventually transition to 25 years into the future, placing emphasis on aged veterans, new characters, and the next-generation offspring of the previous fighters.[12] A tie-in prequel comic book series is being published by DC Comics since January 2015.[13][14] The game's story-mode trailer was released by NetherRealm Studios in February 2015, and featured the first official appearances of newly revealed playables Kung Jin (cousin of Kung Lao),[15] Takahashi Takeda (son of Kenshi), and Jacqueline Briggs (Jax's daughter).Like previous entries in the series, Mortal Kombat X is a fighting game in which two players fight against each other using a variety of attacks, special moves, and gruesome Fatalities. The energy meter, first introduced in the previous Mortal Kombat game, allows players to perform techniques such as "X-Ray" special moves. Similarly to NetherRealm Studios' previous title, Injustice: Gods Among Us, fighters are able to interact with the environment, bouncing off areas to reposition themselves or using parts of the environment as weapons. In addition, each fighter has three different variations, each featuring a different set of moves they can use during the fight. For example, the character Scorpion features a "Ninjutsu" variation in which he wields dual swords, a "Hellfire" variation which relies more on fiery special moves, and an "Inferno" variation which allows him to summon hellspawn minions to aid him in the fight. "Brutality" finishing moves are to make a comeback from Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 in the form of enhanced versions of certain moves that are triggered when they are used to give the opponent the last attack in a round.[8] The sprint gauge, which was last seen in Mortal Kombat 4, returns in this game. This game will also feature a new type of finisher called a "Quitality", which will instantly kill a player's character if they quit during a multiplayer match.The game's modes are to include "Story", "1 vs. 1 Ranked", "King of the Hill", "Survivor", and "Test Your Luck". A new addition called "Living Towers" is an evolved form of Mortal Kombat's "Challenge Tower" where the play conditions will be changing every hour. I'll go for an 8/10 as well. Honestly, I'm just not hype for MKX at all. They made the females in this game awful and I find the one's in MK9 to be the best looking one's better then they are in MKX. I'll stick to MK9 until the Komplete edition is release.

Agreed...though I think that Mileena's design looks better in this one.

I can wait for the Komplete Edition.

On the next MK game, this is my advice to WB and Ed Boon. They need to hired female designers to make these females more sexy and know what they are doing cause I'm not impressed what they did here. Looking forward to the reviews.

This game is at least an 8 or a 9. The gameplay looks really fun. I'm not sure if it's a day 1 situation for me though.

Not really, it's still late March so there's plenty of time to see MKX get a lot of hype and so far, I haven't heard if it went Gold already so it's not too soon. This thread should be sticky probably in more 2 weeks.

Bloodborne is still a thing and MKX won't be release in 3 weeks from today [U.S time at the time of this replay/post] so that has to take into considerations.

As a MK fan, I'm getting dangerously close to buying this game. Maybe.

iv been following the game and so far iv found the roster disappointing.

8/10 - The new characters aren't that interesting (especially Kotal Ogre).

Got mah Coarse Kollector's Edition pre ordered and paid off. I had both the PS4 and XB1 versions pre ordered since I wasn't sure which one I was gonna go with, but the news about PS3 sticks being compatible with the PS4 version sealed the deal for me. Can't wait. :D

So you're saying 5 characters = half the roster? As long as those characters aren't already finished and on the disc ala Capcom, I have no issue with it. Plus, the Kombat Pack is included with the Kollector's Editions so I'll be set.

And I wasn't even planning on getting this game at all..... it would have to be an on sale impulse purchase...... I only sympathise because DoA is doing it too.

I would have gotten this at launch for $60, but the fact they have 4 DLC characters going for an extra $21 totally put me off the day one purchase. Now I'll just wait until an affordable Komplete Collection.

Seriously though.... its gonna be a great game..... no other Fighting Game is doing what there doing..... you are essentially getting 3 times as many fighters since each characters has 3 differen't styles...... DLC or no DLC.... its alot of Bang for your Buck.

Well, to be fair, if the game has a Tag team mode, then yeah there's co-op.

True enough. He should save the co-op comments for the games that would actually benefit from it. The only game I recall begging for co-op for was Two Towers (which EA thankfully fixed in Return of the King).

This is what Angry Joe had to say on MKX with all the characters rosters so far and he sure was happy that Predator is in the game and he didn't mind the DLC Packs which I can understand. I'm just glad that Spawn is not in the game, I rather see him in the next Injustice game and I always feel that Spawn belongs in DC to me.

This mk, just like mk9 is a must buy if you're an mk fan (like me)

I just hope they have a story mode again, mk9 story mode was epic
