Arkham Origins was $7.49 during the steam summer sale and didn't require a monthly sub to get that price.

Yep. Haven't gotten around to Origins yet, still playing City which has become one of my all time fav games. Got Arkham City GOTY edition for $7.49 during the 2013 steam summer sale.

Steam is a platform that does sales more often, better and doesn't require a subscription plan to acess.

Besides the fact that a proper pc gamer would use multiple platforms and sites for sales. Steam isn't the old one, just the most popular. G2A is giving Batman Origins STEAM keys for less than 7 euros.. Without a sale.

Keep trying TC, keep trying.

You have to pay an extra $50 a year to get the best deals, which could be found on steam, which is completely free.

Lots of 4.20 references.

The latest humble bundle offers 15 game for only $14. What's PSN?

#11 Posted by chikenfriedrice (9871 posts) -

Steam is an internet-based digital distribution, digital rights management, multiplayer, and social networking platform developed by Valve Corporation. Steam provides the user with installation and automatic updating of games on multiple computers, and community features such as friends lists and groups, cloud saving, and in-game voice and chat functionality. The software provides a freely available application programming interface (API) called Steamworks, which developers can use to integrate many of Steam's functions, including networking and matchmaking, in-game achievements, micro-transactions, and support for user-created content through Steam Workshop, into their products.

Or 6 for $1, if you want to make it look even worse.

And we aren't talking about 15 different games priced at $14 each. We are talking you pay $14, get 15 games. Or pay $1, get 6 games.

You have to PAY for SALES

LOL

I'll stick with Steam for now, thanks. :P

Console game prices baffle me. Infamous is ancient, if you want to put it on for sale it better be between 2-5$

@RossRichard:

And, I havent had a smoke in nearly a week. :(

@SolidGame_basic:

Are you really so insecure that you have to compare the PSN sales too Steam? Cant you just let them speak for themselves? Comparing them to steam makes them seem really shitty.

#20 Edited by heretrix (37310 posts) -

What's Steam? It's a vastly superior digital distribution service.

#21 Posted by Nanomage (2403 posts) -

Those are pathetic compared to steam sales, and you still have to be paying a monthly fee lol.

#22 Posted by Krelian-co (10368 posts) -

Why poor peasant will never understand their sales don't even come close to steam.

#23 Posted by yokofox33 (29362 posts) -

The 20% off pre-orderes is nice. I pre-ordered Hohokum. Been waiting for that game for a looooong time.

Lol. I remember the last thread. The OP was ranting on why were people arguing about steam on a psn sale thread even though he incorporated steam in the title.

I feel bad for OP, someone who thinks this sale is actually near steam sales has never been in a steam sale and thus, never experience the power of the master race playing on a gaming pc.

Pretty much, that´s why the idiot has mentioned steam again,he knows this and every psn sale is shit compared to steam and that no one cares about a thread on the subject unless he mentions the major, far superior gaming service worldwide, and then complain like a bitch that people are laughing at him lol.

What's Steam? On the Summer sale Arkham Origins was $7, and LEGO Marvel $5.. And without paying a monthly fee. Paying for sales and multiplayer, ridiculous stuff.. >_>

It's good if you think of it like an expansion, that's where your expectations should be. If you think of it like a full sequel/prequel you can be disappointed, because not a lot is different apart from the story. And the City is bigger, but for no good reason.

That's my opinion anyway. Just saying, it's a good game if your expectations are in the right place.

Why do you have to have plus to take an advantage of a sale? Isn't the whole point of a sale to save money?

#38 Edited by RoboCopISJesus (1370 posts) -

PC does something amazing.

Console gamers Hate on amazing thing.

Console gets half assed version of amazing thing.

Console gamers now loves amazing thing.

Not to mention, Humble Bundle keep badgering me to pay what I want for a bunch of games. PC gaming is sweet. It's so easy to get more games than you could play.

I realised how much milking they were doing on consoles when I went over to the PC.

it's great for playstation people who already have PS+, but even if that wasn't the case. you could still save a lot of money by buying a 3 month membership for $18 or getting your hands on a 30 day trial or even 7 day trial

#43 Posted by CrownKingArthur (4428 posts) -

Compare to the Wii U store, compare to Xbox Live Arcade deals, but keep Steam out of it. Your last thread had the same problem...

BTW: Some of those deals are legit, but this entire thread is going to be overshadowed by PC deals because of the OP title.

inFamous: Festival of Blood for $2.44 is a steal, too bad I already have it. Great time I had with that. I'm looking at Injustice Ultimate for $4-$8 depending on the version.

#46 Posted by kitty (114551 posts) -

I realised how much milking they were doing on consoles when I went over to the PC.

Good decision I hope you like what the pc offers. :)
I haven't abandoned the consoles though, I grew up on them and spent 20 years playing them. It kinda sticks with you, if you get what I mean.
But I think it's safe to say the last few sales from sony haven't really been good. Sure they have good prices on the plus side, but the games aren't anything that make you want to grab them or tell your friends about them. Maybe it's just me though.

It is, I won't complain about that. But the games that have been offered lately don't seem appealing. At least to me. Sure the prices are good with plus, but I'm not that interested in what they are offering with this batch. It's been that way with the last few. I like the 3 month offer. It usually what I get when I don't have the cash to grab a years worth.

#47 Posted by SuddenlyTragic (735 posts) -

Well I picked up Arkham Origins for $7.49 during the Steam summer sale and it runs in 1080p/60fps and has plenty of DX11 features the PS3 version doesn't have. Plus I don't have to pay a subscription fee as others noted. Just sayin
