Microsoft Teases New Game For Window 10 Event

Microsoft was originally going to speak about Forza 6 at the Window 10 Event on Jan 21, but they went ahead and announced that early. It seems they have something else in mind to announce at the show.

"Next week Microsoft will be holding a media briefing for Windows 10 and while operating systems aren’t exactly in our wheelhouse, we always hope that some sort of gaming news (even if it be on the technical side) is revealed or discussed at events like these. It looks like our wish might be fulfilled, as today Larry Hryb (Major Nelson) made a seemingly random smiley face tweet at new Twitter account @pcedf.

That new account then made its first tweet: the same smiley face. The account is called “be ready” and the account description is simply “soon.” This all seems to be teasing an upcoming game announcement that Major Nelson is in on.

What it is unclear is what the game could be. The only other hint is the Twitter’s banner image which can be seen below and seems to be a suit of armor.

We’ll follow the story and report back with any updates. The good news is that the media briefing will take place 9am on January 21, so we won’t have to wait long to find out."

Apparently this is fan art for Dark Souls' boss "Artorias". Interesting. Is M$ trying to counter Sony's Bloodborne game in some way? Will this be for PC, the XB1 or both? This Window 10 event on Jan21st is going to be memorable.

I think the windows game that's in the works is age of empires (rumoured on gaf and such), but not by Mj Nelson or on twitter for that matter lol

I believe the reason for spencer being at the MS event is to announce a major dashboard update for xbox to bring it in line with windows 10. (again just rumours)

To be fair, this news could be very, very, VERY exciting to certain people and therefore they might not be able to control themselves once such an exciting, but false, misunderstanding and rumor popped up. So excited in fact, they may have missed the multiple retractions and went on to create various threads at multiple sites in their confusion.
