Can anyone care to explain why a 1200 Microsoft Points which costs 15$ translates to only 10$?

I can't buy the 1200 anymore, but I paid €15, and I got 1200 points.
I never got less, and I've bought a shitload of those cards. Sorry to hear about your situation. That's just messed up.

I just bought one from a store nearby.
Well that's your own problem for buying them because they've been phased out. Some stores will have stock left but the Xbox stores just use money now and sell dollar/pound/whatever your local currency is cards in shops.

I know that, but the whole point of this business model is to exchange money, am I right?
For example if you bought a 20$ Playstation Network Card you will receive 20$ on your PSN.
