Microsoft finally expanding/doubling its 1st party to build...

Black Tusk Studios, formerly MS Vancouver (worked on MS flight), has just been set up.

Speaking toThe Vancouver Sun, former EA employee and current Black Tusk studio boss Michael Crump said the studio will focus on, big games, big teams and big budgets with long timelines.

What that means is we are working on Microsoft's next big entertainment franchise, he said.

We're not working on an existing franchise, we're looking to build the next Halo here in Vancouver, for example, which is really exciting. We are building something from the ground up.

To accompany this new pushthe studios website has updated, revealing that Black Tusk is working on AAA games that push the limits of Microsoft's entertainment platforms.

Among the studios advertised roles is a posting for a senior gameplay engineer who has experience with multiplayer and/or co-op gameplay development.

Another posting asks for a senior AI engineer and refers to the game as a AAA core game.

Meanwhile, it has beenreportedthat Black Tusks in-development game is a sci-fi shooter on the scale of Gears of War or Halo. The lead designer of Crysis 2 is among the staff.

Back in July it was announced that Microsoft Game Studios Vancouver had halted development on two games, Microsoft Flight and Project Columbia - an interactive childrens TV project.

Now back from the brink as Black Tusk, itll be interesting to see what they come up with.

Your take on this? I'm surprised they are developing actual games this late in the gen. The studios as formerly developing for Kinect. They might be developing for the 720. Did you have a syncope hile reading this? Does Black Tusk remind you of Monster Hunter? Is johnny being banned the greatest thing to ever happen in system wars? will I ever send my laptop to get fixed so that I don't need to type the 'e' and 'w' and that other letterwith ctrl+v?

tc i think you need to look at the dictionary and particularly study the words scale and design then come back argueing they are the same things.

Cause essentially thats your arguement that scale=/= design, also Gears and Halo vastly differ in style just to make a note of that point, who knows they might push more in a direction of say Crysis or even star wars.

On the scale of Gears of War or Halo does not mean Halo or Gears of War.

Geez, I know you have troubles with reading comprehension but you should at least try brushing up on the basics before making threads.
