Wii U didn't get that spike I see... still better than last week, but still, that's not good when Mario is getting it's ass kicked by Final Fantasy. Vita went down BADLY though.

Vita TV is nothing more than another Vita, so I thought it was best to add just the total numbers.

@nintendoboy16: Actually the Vita TV is not a handheld. Is... Another thing.... with a Vita brand on it, for marketing purposes.

But it still primarily plays Vita games, doesn't it? Just a bit more region locked?

It is a Vita that can only be played on the TV, that's region locked to Japanese accounts and has HDCP Protection on it. It plays a good majority of JAPANESE Vita games, PSP games, PS1 games and PSN games. It's a Vita that's not portable.

Well, that pretty much answers my question. Still, no point in adding separate Vita TV numbers when they are added together with the other units.

I expected Mario World to create a bigger fuzz than this.

I think all the consoles this gen will most likely do poorly in Japan if you look at the current weekly MediaCreate numbers for the PS3. The vita and the 3ds seem to be doing okay.

Congrats SE on FF13-3... I knew Japan would eat it up, its baisically a Lightning dress-up game

How long do you think it will last?

It's probably the worst selling FF game yet, for comparison FF13-2 sold 530k frist week and that was considered a flop another example FF10-2 sold 1.475 million frist week, hell even Dirge of Cerberus managed 395k.

Those are REEEEEEEEEEEEEAALLY depressing Mario and Taiko sales, especially for Japan, something is up.

I just don't understand. I thought Wii U sales would spike because they are missing that one game that would help it sell much better than it is and I thought Mario 3D World would be that one game (with Mario Kart and Smash of course) since the game is being regarded so highly. Is there some advertising f*** up down there? I'm seeing a better ad push for America.

I am very happy to see the massive floppage of Lightning Returns, though. Something needs to send Square Enix a message, and hopefully this will be it.

Here's hoping. Some people on GAF are saying they know some Japanese kids who want to play 3D World so much. Then again, considering it's GAF...

It won't/ Just like Xiii-2 didn't. Unless Xiii lightning sells around 5 million in the first month.

Mario 3d world deserves better than that :(

Even I thought SM3DW would boost Wii U sales close to 100k at least. Only MK8 and maybe SSB will boost the Wii U in 2014 and nothing else until the new 3D Zelda which isn't coming until at least Holiday 2015. Wii U makes a decent secondary system but I don't see how anyone can main it.

Everything did a terrible job except for the 3DS. Just another week in Japan.

At least the Vita is holding its place. The Vita TV dropped off a cliff though.

New Mario game not top in Nintendos homeland it isn't looking good for the future.
