Voice chat has it beat.

Driveclub is the clear winner. Plus, Nintendo doesn't have the "trademark" guy.

They don't, you can check it online.

Mario Kart 8. Duh.

One is fun for short burst, and to fool around 15-20 minutes. The other is a boring looking sim racer.

Neither?

You can upload your Ps4 images/videos anywhere you want, save them to USB-memory or whatever...put that USB-memory in your PC...

you shouldn't bring up 720p vs 1080p, that's not worthy of discussion according to one of the mods

Thankfully I brought up loads of other points too ^_^

Ha, what a stupid comparison.

Mario Kart = Karts, therefore it's a kiddy racer.

Drive Club is all about the proper cars, it's what true gamers will play.

You're just some kind of casual if you somehow pick Mario Kart over Drive Club

Yeah, have fun with your hardcore 30FPS racer. 30FPS is so slow the Blue Shell will probably lap you a couple of times before it descends on your 'car' at its leisure.

#10 Posted by inb4uall (6390 posts) -

Game is 1080p 60fps according to eurogamer

You probably knew this bit already, but Mario Kart 8 is looking like another polished racer from Nintendo. The game's visuals are beautiful, 1080p and 60fps even in two-player split-screen, while new characters and weapons such as the Piranha Plant keep things feeling fresh amongst otherwise familiar surroundings.

ha blue shell. That's the problem with Kart Racers, they are so boring they need pointless weapons to try and spruce some life into them.

Drive Club is for true gamers who appreciate the racing and can handle more interesting physics.

It'll be the WiiU's premiere online game until late 2014 though. Then it'll have to share it's place with SSB4 :P

MK8 has anti gravity, DriveClub doesn't. Boom, bitch.

Also, in all seriousness, MK8 will be the premier racing game for consoles in 2014- I mean, what's gonna compete with it, DriveClub? lol

EDIT: Ah, just saw he said premier online game period, didn't specify the genre. Yeah, that's not happening.

Pfft, DriveClub has far more social features than Mario Kart anyway, bringing up the playing with friends argument is pretty moot. Can join clubs on Drive Club, like clans but better.

lolyes. I'm going to school some fools all around the race track and then use the voice chat to pick up chicks in between races while I smash some beers with the bros. "Hey babe. Sorry I beat you so bad in that race. Why don't you come over some time and I'll show you how to go faster. All right? All right. Well, gotta go, race is starting." Vrrooom.

What could possibly compete with that hypothetical? Nothing in 2014, that's what.

#29 Posted by Floppy_Jim (25834 posts) -

You would have to play Driveclub for twice as long as Mario Kart 8 to get the same amount of frames. Therefore MK8 has the superior FPS:time spent ratio. It seems Nintendo just have more respect for my free time than Evolution do so Mario Kart it is.

Also, that's not what he said. He said premier online game for consoles. Full period. We both know that'll be nowhere near the truth. If we are going for racing console games only, then yeah he may have a point. Depends on how Driveclub sells really. Remember even Knack sold, just because it's on PS4 :P

Yeah, I noticed that and edited my post lol

@PurpleMan5000: Again, if you're going for "online console games" there's plenty of games you'll have to beat for that :P Titanfall, Halo (assuming the remake has online), CoD, Fifa, Madden, etc.

If you're going for "racing online console games" you may have a point. Otherwise, not really :P

In all seriousness, my post wasn't all that serious. Honestly, though, we kind of have to wait for all of these games to come out and see just how fully-featured Mario Kart is. It's going to sell millions of copies, and I think the online is going to be well-populated for years to come. Those games you mentioned are fun to play online, but they aren't unbeatable.

Yes lets compare the game where you shoot blue turtles from your cartoon go kart to an sim-light racing game. Seems like a solid comparison.

But dat 60fps > 30fps? AMIRITE?!

This place is lowering my IQ.

But this place is not serious right? Well I can tell you that if you act like idiots in attempt to mock idiots, real idiots find a home.
